Dallas CASA’s CASAblanca Casino Party

The Dallas CASA Young Professionals will host the annual CASAblanca casino party on January 30 at The Adolphus Grand Ballroom from 8pm to midnight. CASAblanca will feature casino games, dancing, cocktails, appetizers, prizes and fun, all amidst a winter wonderland theme with snow machines, themed drinks and a silent auction. 

The casino party will include blackjack, craps and poker tables and a roulette wheel. A pianist will open the evening, followed by The Special Edition Band, who will have guests hitting the dance floor. All proceeds benefit the children served by Dallas CASA. CASAblanca is hosted by the Dallas CASA Young Professionals, a vibrant group of volunteers whose mission is to increase awareness of Dallas CASA while providing charitable and social opportunities for people ages 21 to 40. The Ireland Funds Will Honor Sean Donohue, DFW International Airport CEO

 The Ireland Funds has announced Sean Donohue, Chief Executive Officer of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), as the recipient of its 2023 Distinguished Leadership Business Leader Award. He will be honored on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Texas Emerald Ball, which will be held at The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. The Ireland Funds made the announcement on November 17 at the Dallas Arboretum in front of key members and supporters.

The Ireland Funds’ Texas Vice President of Development, Meg Finley, welcomed everyone. Ireland Consul General Robert Hull, based in Austin, talked about the long-standing connections between Ireland and Texas with their cultures, businesses, and sports.

The Ireland Funds National Board Member, Thomas W. Codd, recounted the organization’s history and introduced Donohue. “We look forward to honoring Sean with the Distinguished Business Leader Award. A great leader, he has shown his ability in running one of the most successful airports in the world. He’s also a great family man and friend.”

Donohue said, “I am honored to be selected by The Ireland Funds for this prestigious award and look forward to March 18th.”

Donohue spoke about his role leading DFW International Airport, particularly the magnitude of the 17,000+ acre location. “We grow as the region grows. We’re the second largest airport in the world [in terms of passengers] and serve nearly 80 million customers. We have 2,000 DFW Airport employees, but if you add the airlines and other businesses to our employees, there are 65,000 total.” He also talked about taking care of the minority and women-owned small businesses at the airport during and after the pandemic—a priority of his.

19th Annual La Vie en Roses Champagne Gala

 
On Friday, May 2, 2014, the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Dallas/Fort Worth (FACC) will transport guests to la Rive Gauche of the Seine in Saint-Germain-des-Prés for “Une Nuit à Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The 19th Annual “La Vie en Roses” Champagne Gala will take place at 7:00 pm at the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas.
 
The gala will include a champagne reception, a French gourmet dinner and wine pairing, dancing, live entertainment and a silent auction to benefit the FACC. Despite its local setting, guests will delight in surroundings that reflect timeless French landmarks such as the historic Seine River, the charming Le Café de Flore and the enchanting Garden of Luxembourg.

The FACC is recognizing the success of Mr. Esquerré’s la Madeleine Country French Café. Esquerré founded la Madeleine in 1983, creating the gourmet fast casual restaurant and eventually expanding to 67 units in the Southwest, Phoenix and Washington DC area. Esquerré is also a co-founder of the Essilor Vision Foundation and Kids Vision for Life program promoting “Better life through better sight.” Essilor Vision Foundation was founded in Dallas in 2007 to provide vision correction to underserved children and to eliminate poor vision and its lifelong consequences across the United States. In 2014, Essilor Vision Foundation and Kids Vision for Life will deliver 40,000 pairs of glasses at no cost to families in the major cities of Texas and Southern California and in 11 other cities in the U.S. It is also expanding to other countries.
 
“We’re honored to present the 2014 Alain Bellet Award to Patrick Esquerré in recognition of his entrepreneurial mindset, outstanding accomplishments and ongoing support for the French-American business community,” said new FACC President Patricia Zilliox.
 
Gala Chairman Richard Hunt said the event plays a pivotal role in strengthening the presence of the French community in Dallas. “The gala is a wonderful opportunity for local French and American businesses to support the work of the Chamber,” Hunt said. “Even more important, it is a chance for all North Texans to celebrate the deep historical ties and important cultural and economic contributions of the French community in North Texas."

25th Annual Breakfast with Santa


 

The Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center, Dallas Chapter and Wells Fargo are honored to present the 25th Annual Breakfast with Santa, a charity event benefitting Children's Medical Center.

Celebrate the season with your family and friends, and enjoy an entertaining breakfast full of holiday cheer! Festivities include photographs with Santa Claus, face painting and balloon twisters by Faces by Darlene, and special shows by Bonkers, the Clown. Children of all ages will get in the holiday spirit by mingling with jolly Christmas characters and enjoying Christmas caroling.

Breakfast with Santa begins at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the historic Adolphus Hotel. The annual event is followed by the legendary Children's Medical Center Holiday Parade presented by Pizza Hut at 10:00 am.

Tickets are $70 per person (regardless of age) and include a plated pancake breakfast, 5 x 7 photo with Santa and reserved bleacher seating for the parade. The reserved seating is conveniently located near the entrance to the Adolphus Hotel. This has become an annual holiday tradition that quickly sells out. If you plan to spend to spend the night at The Adolphus Hotel, make your reservations early. Standard rates apply.

The Wilkinson Center Gala Kick-Off Party

The Wilkinson Center gala kick-off party will take place on Tuesday, October 1 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Kendra Scott boutique in West Village.
Kendra Scott is giving attendees 10% off their purchases at the event and is donating 10% of the evening’s profits to Wilkinson Center.
Friends of Wilkinson Center will host “Shaken, not Stirred”, a James Bond-themed gala, Friday, October 25 at The Adolphus, benefitting Wilkinson Center.
Honorary chairs for the gala are Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Micki Rawlings.

Dress 4 Yellow

The 4 Yellow Foundation announces its next step in the fight against cancer: Dress 4 Yellow. Set for April 5th at the historic Adolphus Hotel, Dress 4 Yellow will raise funds for LIVESTRONG and Cook Children’s Cancer Center by hosting a high-profile fashion show, luncheon and silent auction. After raising more than $850,000 for LIVESTRONG via grassroots fundraising efforts over the last two years, the nonprofit organization is taking a fashion-forward approach to fighting cancer.

Dress 4 Yellow, presented by Park Place Motorcars Dallas, will kick off with a luncheon and presentation by LIVESTRONG founder and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, followed by a runway show featuring designs by more than 20 of the world’s top designers. Each designer will produce a custom-made yellow piece or select a yellow design from archived collections. Confirmed designers include Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, Carmen Marc Valvo, Catherine Malandrino, Thakoon, Christian Siriano, Zang Toi, Cole Haan, Nike, Oakley, Ruffian, Abi Ferrin, Sachin + Babi, Elie Tahari, David Meister, Rachel Roy, Chadwick Bell, Lela Rose and more. The show will be produced by Bret McKinney, who has been part of the Stanley Korshak team since 2000, and has been the driving force behind the store’s fantastic visual displays, as well as the producer of Texas Ballet Theater, DIFFA/Dallas and Fresh Faces of Fashion.

Several of the looks will be offered for purchase during a live auction immediately following the show. The remaining designs and other high-value items will be up for grabs during the “Yellow Brick Road” silent auction. Hollywood royalty and local celebrities will donate their favorite yellow accessories to be included in the auction. During the event, $100 “Pot of Gold” Chance Drawing tickets can be purchased for an opportunity to win experiences with Tory Burch and Bobbi Brown in New York, TOMS custom shoes in Los Angeles or a VIP shopping trip at Neiman Marcus in Dallas.

“Dress 4 Yellow is designed to inspire and empower those affected by cancer,” Lance Armstrong says. “Through dollars raised, we will increase awareness, provide critical navigation services, fund research and survivorship programs and work to end the stigma of cancer around the globe.”

Individual tickets can be purchased for $250 and tables of 10 are available for $2,000. Sponsorships range in value from $5,000 to $50,000, and advantages include admission to an exclusive preview party and VIP reception, recognition on marketing materials, and VIP seating during the luncheon and fashion show.

Big Thought's 25th Anniversary Gala

Big Thought will kick off its 25th anniversary year with a gala celebration at The Adolphus Hotel on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature a seated dinner, entertainment and dancing. Organizers anticipate more than 250 guests will attend the celebration.

Founded in 1987 as Young Audiences of North Texas by Mitch Jericho and Edith O’Donnell, Big Thought has grown from a small arts agency to an organization focused on providing creative learning opportunities to hundreds of thousands of children and families each year.

Key programs include Thriving Minds, Creative Solutions, Library Live, SLANT: Service Learning Adventures in North Texas, and Young Audiences. Big Thought – working in partnership with the City of Dallas, Dallas ISD and hundreds of Dallas youth, cultural and educational organizations – serves more than 300,000 children, teens and families every year.

The evening will honor Big Thought co-founders Mitch Jericho and Edith O’Donnell and pay tribute to IBM and the Corrigan family, recipients of the 2012 Founders Award.

Savor the Symphony


Élan Circle of DSOL is presenting Savor the Symphony, a celebration of arts and the Dallas community! The fundraiser brings together leaders in the area to support the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The funds raised by the event will go toward the educational programs offered by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Savor the Symphony will be held on April 16, 2011 at 7 p.m. The event is black-tie and will feature a five-course wine dinner, silent and live auctions, and live entertainment all at the Adolphus Hotel.
