The Men’s Advocacy Group (MAG) is an auxiliary of New Friends New Life, created to mobilize men to take action against sex trafficking and exploitation by raising awareness through advocacy, education, and volunteerism.

New Friends New Life Commemorates Circle of Friends Lifetime Members

 

Psychiatrist and author Dr. Jean Sinoda Bolen once said, “Circles are the means through which women have improved the situation for women.”

NFNL is delighted to commemorate the commitment of their Circle of Friends Lifetime Members with this special butterfly pin. Nearly 150 existing lifetime members will receive this gift, along with every incoming lifetime member. They encourage recipients to proudly wear their pin at agency events and meetings, and also while out and about in the community. 

NFNL thanks all members for being an extension of their mission by lending your voice and your resources to raise awareness, funds, and to provide tangible and immediate support to the women, girls, and children served.

While lifetime members make a one-time commitment, annual membership is now open at the Friend ($50) and Patron ($100) levels. We invite you to join the NFNL Circle.

New Friends New Life Announces Circle of Friends Membership Driv

New Friends New Life, a Dallas-based nonprofit that provides holistic support in the restoration and empowerment of formerly trafficked and commercially exploited teens, women, and their children, announces its annual Circle of Friends membership drive taking place throughout the month of June.
Circle of Friends memberships directly support programs for the 1,000 teen girls and women New Friends New Life serves annually. These essential resources, including access to education, job training, and financial assistance, help serve as the foundation toward building a life free from degradation and harm.

“It is a privilege that through my volunteer commitment with New Friends New Life, I can be part of the restoration and empowerment of girls who have been abused and sexually exploited right here in Dallas,” said Elizabeth Gambrell, president of the New Friends New Life Circle of Friends board. “Getting these precious lives on a road to self-sufficiency is critical. The staff at New Friends New Life is uniquely and spiritually qualified to meet these girls right where they need to be met.”

The Circle of Friends group supports the nonprofit’s mission through volunteerism, community awareness, and fundraising, and provides the Dallas community with the opportunity to join a movement that helps women and teen girls leave sex trafficking, overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, and poverty, and ultimately build better futures.

“Texas ranks second in the country for the most human trafficking, and there are an estimated 400 trafficked teens on the streets of Dallas each night,” explained New Friends New Life CEO Katie Pedigo. “This is a serious issue in Dallas that requires the community to stand with us to support these teen girls and women. With the help of our Circle of Friends members, our organization continues to make critical strides in ending this human rights epidemic and providing a more hopeful future to the women and girls who have been victims of degradation.”

Become a Member of Junior League of Collin County!



The Junior League of Collin County is an organization of nearly 1,000 women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The JLCC seeks to achieve its mission by honoring the core values of service, respect and leadership.  JLCC addresses the needs of the community, forms collaborative partnerships, and provides training and education to further the leadership and life skills of its members.

Benefits of Membership include unique training opportunities for effective community leadership, including advocacy, community research, fundraising, finance, leadership, public relations and personal development. There are a variety of flexible volunteer initiatives available. Members build relationships with a diverse group of current and emerging women leaders, develop new friendships and lifelong affiliations and become a part of an international association of over 160,000 women.

Several Ways that JLCC Members Impacted Collin County Last Year:

•Sexual assault avoidance training for 19,000 youth

•Life skills and creative programs for 180 homeless teenagers

•Academic and personal mentoring for 60 Hispanic students

•Family literacy improvements for 50 families

•Foster healing and ante-partum support for over 1,000 NICU families

•Guidance for more than 300 at-risk youth and mentors

JLCC is currently recruiting for the upcoming 2013-14 Provisional Class.  The Provisional Program is a 10-month training course designed to introduce you to JLCC and prepare for active membership.

Council for Life Membership Drive

With the beginning of a new year full of possibilities, Council for Life has kicked off its 2013 Membership Drive, and they invite you to join in their effort.

Founded in 2001, Council for Life has over 875 members who dedicate their time to raising money and public awareness to encourage our culture to make decisions that support life.  The organization focuses on four platforms: Abstinence, unplanned pregnancy, abortion recovery and adoption.  Council for Life is motivated by Christ-like love and responsive compassion, and it empower women, men and youth to make life-affirming choices.

Membership dues are used exclusively for educational events and operating expenses.  The Council has donated $3.97 million to over 30 life-affirming non-profit agencies that share their mission. These organizations provide healthcare, counseling and many other resources to support men, women, youth and the unborn child.
