Hispanic 100 Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation Grants $114,000 to 29 North Texas Nonprofits

The Hispanic 100 (H100) Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation has awarded $114,000 in grants to 29 North Texas area nonprofits serving the needs of Latina women and girls in low- and moderate-income communities. Since its inception, H100 has given $786,000 across 165 grants. 

The H100 Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation was established in 2019 by the Hispanic 100 Network to further engage Latinas in philanthropy, and to expand resources for local organizations whose mission is to empower, educate and support Latinas across North Texas.”

Jennifer TreviƱo and Maria Espinoza, H100 Latina Giving Circle Co-Chairs, said, “We are honored to be able to support so many worthy organizations who are serving Latina women and girls across North Texas to live healthier and more successful lives.”

As a child actor, Ricci won over audiences and critics alike with her winning portrayal in movies such as "The Addams Family," "Now and Then," and "Casper."

Ricci’s career continued to take off as she came into adulthood, starring not only in movies such as "The Ice Storm" and "The Opposite of Sex," but capturing the attention of television audiences as well with original series such as "Z:The Beginning of Everything," "The Lizzie Borden Chronicles," and, more recently, "Yellowjackets."

As a guest star on various hit shows such "Grey’s Anatomy," "The Good Wife," and "Ally McBeal," combined with her broadway appearance in "Time Stands Still," Ricci can literally do it all and has been a trailblazer in Hollywood through her on-camera presence while advocating to end family violence. 

We are honored she has chosen to support The Family Place's mission to empower survivors and provide resources to individuals and families in need.
 
You can look forward to seeing Ricci in Tim Burton’s upcoming show “Wednesday,” which will release on Netflix later this year.

ReuNight for The Family Place - An Evening in Provence

 

Co-Chairs Marisa Howard, Roni Proter Kelly, and Max Trowbridge invite you to ReuNight for The Family Place on Thursday, May 12. Returning to The Nasher Sculpture Garden, this year’s event will be An Evening in Provence with a French-inspired four-course elevated dinner by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Patrons will dine al fresco, enjoying the lovely spring evening under twinkling lights amidst exquisite modern art. Bryan Long with Grey Gardens Florist will again set the tone for the evening with modern, architectural flowers and fabulous design. A small, curated luxury live auction will end the evening’s festivities.

After careful consideration, The Family Place has rescheduled ReuNight for Spring 2021. Since we can’t ReuNight in person this year, past co-chairs of the dinner fundraiser have come together to encourage our community to U-Night during this challenging time and support The Family Place by donating to Dine In for Domestic Violence!  

On Saturday, October 24, U-Night with The Family Place to Dine In for Domestic Violence and enjoy a fabulous four-course elevated dining experience with wine and a floral arrangement from Grey Gardens Florist within the comforts of your home. 

Partnering with innovative Chef Jordan Swim of Vestals Catering and Front Burner Restaurants, diners will enjoy a locally sourced, farm to table four-course dining experience featuring a bountiful charcuterie board, fall vegetable salad, beef entrĆ©e, and an inspired dessert. Vegetarian options are available upon request. 

Top sponsors have the option of hosting an executive chef to prepare the four-course dinner in their home, at a date most convenient to them.

The Family Place Holds Partners Card Announcement Party

Over 150 guests overlooked the gorgeous Dallas skyline from the rooftop terrace of DEC on Dragon Thursday, January 25, where The Family Place held the Partners Card Announcement Party. Retailers, sponsors, past chairs and other supporters joined co-chairs Brynn Bagot Allday and Jennifer Burns, as they celebrated the record-breaking 25th anniversary of Partners Card presented by Bank of Texas and benefiting The Family Place. More than $1 million was raised making it possible to provide over 14,000 nights of lifesaving shelter for men, women and children escaping domestic violence which represented an increase in funding from last year’s campaign.

Guests celebrated their accomplishments with music by DJ Niro, strolling bites provided by Food Glorious Food, an open bar, and the fabulous view of downtown Dallas. Partners Card 2017 Co-chairs Brynn Bagot Allday and Jennifer Burns kicked off remarks by thanking retailers, sponsors, card sellers, volunteers and media who make the annual Partners Card fundraiser possible each year.
 
Allday introduced Bank of Texas Dallas Market Executive Bob White, who spoke on behalf of the bank, which has been the presenting sponsor of Partners Card for 10 years and officially committed to sponsoring Partners Card again in 2018. "What The Family Place is doing is important, end of story. It’s important to the country, it’s important to Dallas and what happens here tonight matters," he said.

Family Place CEO Paige Flink concluded remarks by showing appreciation to everyone who was involved in making Partners Card the largest fundraiser for The Family Place, and Paula Davis was recognized as the top community seller for selling 166 Partners Cards. The other top sellers were Sara and Cass Robinson and Jody and Mike Coffey. All top sellers received a special prize from Bachendorf’s. In addition, Flink announced the 2018 Partners Card Co-chairs - Leigh Danley, Tierney Kaufman and the first-ever male chairman, Julian Leaver.
