The Trinity Ballroom at the Omni Hotel Dallas was packed as guests visited with friends during the reception, enjoyed a fabulous dinner, and never left the dance floor with The Fab Four at the 10th annual BeatLeukemia Ball presented by McGladrey benefiting LeukemiaTexas.
The air was filled with excitement as guests entered the ballroom to the sounds of the Highland Park High School string quartet, posed on the red carpet in front of the Hollywood backdrop, and were treated to cocktails and hors d’ouervres.
For those who don’t know, The Fab Four - The Ultimate Tribute to The Beatles! is the spectacular musical show for which The BeatLeukemiaBall is renowned and patrons look forward to every year.
Jay Cresswell, Assistant Program Director, 98.7 KLUV, and Roger Hendren, LeukemiaTexas Board President welcomed guests and explained how meaningful donations are to those who suffer with this sometimes fatal disease. Donations in any amount are always welcome as guests were directed to the tall donation tower, lit from inside with the LeukemiaTexas logo, making a striking presence and visited often by donors.
They were followed by Honorary Chair and Retired Southwest Airlines Captain, Dick East who shared his story of losing is daughter Muffy to leukemia close to 30 years ago. Captain East emphasized the importance of continuing the fight against leukemia and remaining dedicated to the LeukemiaTexas mission.
Following Captain East, Keith and Jude Cobler joined the stage to share 8 year old Jude’s story with leukemia. After the audience was inspired by this young boy’s courage and determination, LeukemiaTexas representatives surprised Jude and his father with a patient aid check for $1,000.
