Carmaleta Whiteley, the chair of the 2014 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show by Stanley Korshak to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), is proud to announce that Nancy C. and Richard R. Step off those holiday treats at The 2014 Big D Climb for LLS

WHAT?  The Big D Climb is the biggest stair climb in North Texas. Participants race up 52 flights of stairs (1,040 steps) to raise money for blood cancer research and patient services. More than 1,250 climbers raced in January 2013 and helped to raise $200,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. January 25, 2014 will mark the event's 6th year at Fountain Place in Downtown Dallas, and our goal is to have more than 1,350 climbers raise more than $225,000. Can we do it? Absolutely! The Big D Climb has the best climbers with the biggest hearts. WHO?  You! If you don't want to try it alone, form a team and challenge your friends, family and co-workers to race you to the top of Fountain Place. Simply click on the link "create a team" on the registration page to climb for a cure together. Racers must be at least 7 years old or able to climb independently. For safety reason, children are not able to be carried.

28th Annual Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon Raises Funds for LLS

The 28th Annual Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole Chantilly Ballroom, attracting an audience of 600 social and civic leaders from North Texas. 

 This year’s co-chairs were Bunny Cotten, Angela Nash, and Kristina Whitcomb. The theme was “Heart & Sole” and the honorary chair was Jack A. Turpin. The Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award will be presented to former Dallas Maverick Ray Johnston, Jr., who has heroically battled and beaten leukemia four times. The Spirit of Tom Landry Character Award honoring a youth who has battled blood cancer or supported the fight against the disease, was presented by Alicia Landry to two individuals, Kenedy Kundysek and Dalton Douglas.

The highlight of this year's luncheon was an anonymous donation of $100,000! What a magnificent step to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with their mission to fund blood cancer research and fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show® by Stanley Korshak is one of the leading fundraising events for the North Texas Chapter and one of the top fundraising galas for the Society nationwide. Luncheon Chairs Bunny Cotten, Angela Nash & Kristina Whitcomb, are leading the cause this year to raise critical funds and awareness. Now in its 28th year, the 2012 Luncheon is expected to raise more than $500,000, adding to nearly $7.5 million generated over the past two decades. The luncheon draws an audience of 800 to 1200 social and civic leaders from the entire North Texas region.

Thanks to the generosity of Dallas’ premier specialty store Stanley Korshak, the fashion show directed by Jan Strimple is a full runway production comparable to any major fashion event. Clarice Tinsley, anchor for the Dallas/Fort Worth Fox TV affiliate, will emcee the luncheon again this year. Stanley Korshak is bringing in featured designer Chadwick Bell to showcase his 2012 Spring Collection.

Mark your calendar for this year's luncheon on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole Chantilly Ballroom. Champagne reception begins at 10:30 a.m., and the luncheon begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.

More Than $370,000 Netted for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show on Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Despite the wintry weather, The LLS Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show was a success! The 27th annual event took place on Wednesday, February 9, at The Hilton Anatole. Co-chaired by Holly Davis and Kate Marquez, the chic luncheon honored Margot Perot.

The Chantilly Ballroom showcased the theme "The Art of Romance" - a fitting ambience for Valentine's Day. Clarice Tinsley served as Emcee, and models graced the runway sponsored by Stanley Korshak. The retailer's own Crawford Brock was recognized for his ongoing support with the Partners Against Blood Cancers Award.

Nancy Rogers was celebrated as the recipient of the Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award, and sixth-grader Justin Thompson received the Spirit of Tom Landry Award. The young man delivered an inspiring speech about his own battle with Leukemia. Hundreds of determined, brave guests were delighted to be in attendance and support such a wonderful cause.

3rd Annual Big D Climb

The 3rd annual Big D Climb is coming up

on Saturday, January 29, 2011!

What is the Big D Climb?
Big D Climb is a 52-flight climb (1040 steps) up one of Dallas' most recognized landmarks, Fountain Place. Climbers raise money to participate through sponsorships and personal fundraising and as a result are eligible for exciting incentive prizes! The event benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Pineapple Classic Benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

What: An exilerating 5K obstacle course with a twist: each participant must carry a pineapple through the finish line.

More than 80 friends and supporters in cocktail attire attended a beautiful reception at the Crosland’s Highland Park home on October 12 to kick off the upcoming 2011 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show by Stanley Korshak.

The festivities spilled out onto the poolside patio and fire pit area, where the Rangers’ playoff game was playing on television. Wendy Krispin generously donated the wonderful and hearty hors d’oeuvres. Kate Rose Marquez and Holly Davis announced that Margot Perot, who was out of the country and regretfully could not attend, has agreed to be the luncheon’s Honorary Chair.

The theme is “The Art of Romance.” “We’re going for the edgy side of romance – think very Johnny Depp,” said Kate Rose. Young Justin Thompson, a 6th grader from Trinity Christian Academy was chosen personally by Alicia Landry from many nominees to be the Spirit of Tom Landry Award Winner for his courageous battle with acute lymphocytic leukemia and for his strong spirit and many volunteer hours on behalf of the disease. Nancy C. Rogers, who was in attendance, will be the recipient of the Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award for her many years of overwhelming support of the cause. Gold Crown Valet Parking graciously donated the valet parking, and Glazer’s donated all the beverages.
