Love in Bloom: The Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show

 

The Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is celebrating 37 years of fashion for a cure this year. Corporate and community leaders come together for this signature event to launch spring fashions in the DFW area and to honor lives touched by blood cancers.

Chair Melinda Knowles, along with Honorary Chairs Louise & Guy Griffeth and Advisory Chairs Nancy Gopez and Maggie Kipp, looks forward to hosting the Dallas fashionable and charitable communities via virtual platform on February 11, 2021.

JCPenney will present the third annual "Join the Fight" luncheon benefiting Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County Feb. 12, 2015 at the Embassy Suites Dallas/Frisco Hotel and Convention Center. Featuring boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and WFAA's Pete Delkus as emcee, the luncheon will provide attendees an opportunity to hear from a dynamic speaker on the long-term impact of abuse and to provide support for victims of this violent crime.

Carmaleta Whiteley, the chair of the 2014 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show by Stanley Korshak to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), is proud to announce that Nancy C. and Richard R. Rogers have agreed to serve as the Presenting Sponsor.  The Rogers are supporting the Luncheon and LLS with a $100,000 commitment.

The North Texas Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is thankful for the very generous and continued support of this philanthropic couple.  “Nancy and Richard Rogers’ donation will have a significant impact in helping to further cutting edge research that LLS is funding, both in Texas and worldwide.  This type of investment will continue to help us improve the treatment options and put us closer to a world without blood cancers,” says Patricia Thomson, PhD, Executive Director of The North Texas Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The 2014 Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held at the Morton H. Step off those holiday treats at The 2014 Big D Climb for LLS

WHAT?  The Big D Climb is the biggest stair climb in North Texas. Participants race up 52 flights of stairs (1,040 steps) to raise money for blood cancer research and patient services. More than 1,250 climbers raced in January 2013 and helped to raise $200,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. January 25, 2014 will mark the event's 6th year at Fountain Place in Downtown Dallas, and our goal is to have more than 1,350 climbers raise more than $225,000. Can we do it? Absolutely! The Big D Climb has the best climbers with the biggest hearts. See you at the top!

WHO?  You! If you don't want to try it alone, form a team and challenge your friends, family and co-workers to race you to the top of Fountain Place. Simply click on the link "create a team" on the registration page to climb for a cure together. Racers must be at least 7 years old or able to climb independently. For safety reason, children are not able to be carried.  

WHEN?  Saturday, January 25, 2014. It's a great way to kick off your New Year's Resolution to lose weight, go to the gym, try new things, get more involved, help a worthy charity....you name it!

Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon and Fashion Show

Make plans now for The Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This fabulous luncheon is one of the leading fund-raising events for the North Texas Chapter and one of the top fund-raising galas for the Society nationwide. The annual event draws an audience of more than 800 social and civic leaders in the North Texas region. This year, LLS hopes to raise more than $400,000 toward blood cancer research.

28th Annual Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon Raises Funds for LLS

The 28th Annual Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole Chantilly Ballroom, attracting an audience of 600 social and civic leaders from North Texas. 
 This year’s co-chairs were Bunny Cotten, Angela Nash, and Kristina Whitcomb. The theme was “Heart & Sole” and the honorary chair was Jack A. Turpin. The Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award will be presented to former Dallas Maverick Ray Johnston, Jr., who has heroically battled and beaten leukemia four times. The Spirit of Tom Landry Character Award honoring a youth who has battled blood cancer or supported the fight against the disease, was presented by Alicia Landry to two individuals, Kenedy Kundysek and Dalton Douglas.

The highlight of this year's luncheon was an anonymous donation of $100,000! What a magnificent step to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with their mission to fund blood cancer research and fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon A Success

More Than $370,000 Netted for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show on Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Despite the wintry weather, The LLS Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show was a success! The 27th annual event took place on Wednesday, February 9, at The Hilton Anatole. Co-chaired by Holly Davis and Kate Marquez, the chic luncheon honored Margot Perot.

The Chantilly Ballroom showcased the theme "The Art of Romance" - a fitting ambience for Valentine's Day. Clarice Tinsley served as Emcee, and models graced the runway sponsored by Stanley Korshak. The retailer's own Crawford Brock was recognized for his ongoing support with the Partners Against Blood Cancers Award.

Nancy Rogers was celebrated as the recipient of the Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award, and sixth-grader Justin Thompson received the Spirit of Tom Landry Award. The young man delivered an inspiring speech about his own battle with Leukemia. Hundreds of determined, brave guests were delighted to be in attendance and support such a wonderful cause.

The Uptown Crawl for a Cure is DFW’s largest Pub Crawl event of the year. If you’re looking for a great time and most importantly want to support a great cause, then this event is for you.

Get your friends together and start a team of 5. Every participating team will receive 5 official Uptown Crawl T-shirts, 5 goodie bags, beer at every bar in your route, and entry into the after-party for more beer and entertainment.

This event has been organized by Friends for a Cure and will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Our goal is to raise money for LLS, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.

Join Friends for a Cure in their efforts to wipe out blood cancer. This is a fun event that you can enjoy with your friends. There’s no better way to spend this Saturday than having a great time and helping those in need.
