Reservations are open for KRLD Restaurant Week!

The eagerly anticipated “Reservation Day” kick-off for the 15th Anniversary of KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market began yesterday -- Monday, July 16. The heat is on to book sizzling dining deals at over 125 regional hot spots opening up tables, and currently accepting reservations for this popular gastronomic-dining event supporting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home. Beginning August 13-19 North Texans can dine out and enjoy tasty three-course prix fixe menus during this summer fundraising tradition featuring dinner and new lunch reservations (at select spots).

Click here for 2012 Participant List and to receive the full dish on all KRLD Restaurant Week promotions and offerings – such as: “Preview” Weekend, Central Market’s popular Fourth Course certificates, wine pairings and specialty cocktail features, and much more! Spotlighting North Texas’ upscale dining scene, highlights include: longtime supporters Abacus, Del Frisco’s and Stephan Pyles; newcomers like Boi Na Braza and Private Social; and other popular establishments, including: III Forks, Al Biernat’s, Bijoux, Bonnell’s Restaurant, Fearing’s Restaurant – Ritz-Carlton, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, Fogo de Chão, GRACE, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Shinsei, The French Room – The Adolphus, and The Mansion.

Helpful Reservation Tips:
To book a spot, diners can call the desired establishment and request a “KRLD Restaurant Week” reservation, or do so online at CBSDFW.com by following the link to OpenTable. Book early and be flexible; remember that popular places fill up fast and that smaller groups are often easier to seat. Dining out on a weeknight during off-peak evenings like Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday may also help ensure a prime table and time slot. Look for the many restaurants extending their participation by one or even two full weeks -- through August 26 or even September 2 -- opening up additional reservation opportunities.

Select Spots Now Serving Lunch!
Extending the tradition of KRLD Restaurant Week’s tasty three-course prix fixe dinners priced at only $35 per person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately), diners can also now satisfy their hunger for a fabulous mid-day meal. To celebrate 15 years of fine dining, consumers can test-drive the new Cadillac Lunch Experience sponsored by Oak Farms Dairy in 2012. Spotlighting some of North Texas’ hottest lunch locales, 35 select establishments will also feature a special three-course lunch menu for just $25 a person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately) during their participation in KRLD Restaurant Week.

For every prix fixe meal purchased, participating restaurants will donate a portion ($7.00 from every dinner and $5.00 from each lunch) to either the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth. The fundraising goal for this year’s event is $750,000 dollars, aiming to raise $50,000 over the record amount generated by diners in 2011 in support of our community.

Save the Date: KRLD Restaurant Week

August 13-19, 2012 are the feature dates for the 15th Annual KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market, though some restaurants may choose to extend for a second or third week. 2012 participants will be revealed on cbsdfw.com in late July with a special “Reservation Day” kick-off.

The popular end-of-summer dining deal raised an estimated $695,000* during its 2011 run for supported partners the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Lena Pope Home - nearly a 15% increase over last year's record. Tens of thousands of fixe dinners were served in more than 130 restaurants across North Texas. *includes restaurant and event promo totals

The August tradition encourages people to dine out, reconnect and give back, while enjoying regional hotspots during a traditionally slower time for covers. For every $35 three-course prix fixe meal purchased during KRLD Restaurant Week, participating restaurants made a $7.00 donation to either the North Texas Food Bank in Greater Dallas or Lena Pope Home in surrounding Tarrant County.

“We are grateful for the record-breaking support from the community, event sponsors and our amazing restaurants that open up their tables each year,” said Jan Pruitt, NTFB president and CEO. “KRLD Restaurant Week is one of our largest and most popular fundraisers, enabling diners to treat themselves to DFW’s top dining experiences while supporting our mission to put food on the plates of hungry North Texans. In fact, many diners often discover their new ‘go-to’ establishments in the process.”

Follow the event on Facebook and Twitter for updates on "Reservation Day" and other event-related promotions.

KRLD Restaurant Week - Reservations Open!

Reservations are currently underway for the annual KRLD Restaurant Week happening August 15-21.

Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties are all represented this year. Some of the highlights include longtime supporters Abacus, Del Frisco’s and Stephan Pyles; newcomers like Tei-An and Nosh; and other popular establishments, including: III Forks, Al Biernat’s, Bijoux, Bonnell’s Restaurant, Brownstone, Fearing’s – Ritz Carlton, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, GRACE, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Parigi, Shinsei, The French Room – The Adolphus, and The Mansion.

This year, over 125 regional hot spots across DFW are participating in KRLD Restaurant Week and some will extend by one or even two full weeks to Aug. 28 or even until Sept. 4. This tasty tradition -- which showcases the area’s thriving culinary scene -- features three-course prix fixe dinners priced at only $35/person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately). For every prix fixe meal purchased, participating restaurants will make a $7.00 donation in support of the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth to benefit families in need. Last year alone, the Food Bank received over $489,000 from the effort. KRLD Restaurant Week is the ideal time to treat yourself while helping others!

“This is one of our most popular fundraisers since it enables diners to treat themselves while helping others, and encourages them to venture out and potentially discover new ‘go to’ establishments,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO, North Texas Food Bank. “Giving back never tasted as good as it does each August. Every meal consumed during this timeframe enables our organization to put food on the table for area children, families and seniors especially with summer being the hungriest time of the year.” This year’s fundraising goal is $650,000 dollars, which is nearly $50,000 more than the record amount generated in 2010 from diner patronage at participating restaurants.

“Click” on the Maítre d’ logo at KRLD.com to view the entire participant list, and to receive the full dish on this year’s KRLD Restaurant Week festivities. Reservations are required, and diners should specify “KRLD Restaurant Week” when booking.
