Danielle Rollins Announced as DMA Art in Bloom Featured Speaker

TheDallas Museum of Art announces Danielle Rollins, best-selling author and contributing editor to Veranda magazine, as the featured speaker for the DMA League’s Art in Bloom 2014.  Chaired by Barbara Durham, with honorary chairman Barbara Bigham, the annual floral symposium and luncheon will be held at the Museum on Monday, October 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.  Proceeds benefit the Dallas Museum of Art’s exhibition and education programs and the DMA League’s Floral Endowment Fund.

“We are so thrilled to have Danielle Rollins as our featured speaker for this year’s Art in Bloom,” remarked Ms. Durham, Art in Bloom chairman.  “Danielle is not only a wonderful writer, but also an expert on the art of entertaining, including the importance of floral décor.  Her great sense of style and humor, along with her approachable, how-to advice will be a wonderful addition to this year’s fundraiser.”

In addition to serving as the contributing editor for Veranda magazine, Rollins is a frequent contributor to Southern Living and Lifestyle.  Author of the bestseller Soirée: Entertaining with Style, she is a dedicated doyenne of domesticity who can guide viewers, readers and listeners on entertaining, cooking, interior design, tabletop, gardening, flower arranging and holiday decorating, in a snap, using her prescriptive, uniquely chic, creative, original, practical and pretty Simple Little Things™, ideas, tips and how-to advice for achieving beauty for everyday living, home decorating and flawless entertaining.

Following Rollins’ lecture, guests will enjoy a seated luncheon in the Museum’s Atrium, with centerpieces by floral sponsor Cebolla Fine Flowers, and informal modeling with fashions by Hadleigh’s.  Always a highlight, patrons can bid on art-inspired floral arrangements designed by renowned Dallas florists in the silent auction, as well as live auction items.

Luncheon guests will be among the first to view the DMA’s exhibition Bouquets: French Still-Life Painting from Chardin to Matisse, which premieres on October 26, 2014.  The exhibition focuses on the floral still-life genre, which will be a perfect companion to the celebration.
