Gloria Campos to Help The Westapher Fundraiser Celebrate 50 Years

The Westapher Dinner & Auction, chaired by Dotti Reeder, will be held at the stunning Preston Hollow estate of philanthropist Faye Briggs. The cocktail occasion will consist of a silent auction and Cowboys Auctioneers will lead in a lively live auction. Legendary news personality, Gloria Campos, will emcee the dinner and auction where she will share the message and mission of Nexus Recovery Center and introduce a special testimony from one of the Nexus clients.

 

Esteemed guests stemming from the Park Cities and beyond will enjoy dinner by CoHost Catering, wine from Specs Wine, Spirits and Fine Foods, coffee by Nespresso Café and PopStar popsicles for a sweet ending. The 50^th Annual Westapher Golf Charity Tournament follows the day after the Westapher Dinner and Auction. The calendar milestone tournament will be held at Cowboys Golf Club and chaired by Jeff Winker and Roger Wyche. The tournament consists of four player teams, lunch and a scramble awards dinner that follows. The winning team will win the sought after Westapher golf trophy designed by renowned local bronze sculptor Robert Hogan who has placed his work at Cooper Fitness Center, City of Highland Park and Blue Bell Creamery among other Texas locations. Each year the trophy is passed on to the tournament’s winning team who can boast the trophy for 365 days.

Faye Briggs, a dedicated member of the Nexus Women's Auxiliary, recently hosted the Westapher Auction party at her stunning Preston Hollow home on Sunday October 6th. Guests toured her lovely estate, mingled with Dallas notables and bid on coveted auction items.  The occasion preceded the Westapher Golf Tournament on Monday October 14th at Stevens Park Golf Course. An awards and cocktail party, emceed by the esteemed Scott Murray, commenced at the tournaments end.

Anteks hosted more than 75 guests from the Women’s Auxiliary of Nexus and the Preston Center Rotary Club on September 12 in celebration of the upcoming Westapher Auction and Golf Tournament. The crowd perused the sophisticated rustic home furnishings throughout the Design District storefront and shared their excitement for the October events at this Kick Off occasion.

Kick Off party and Westapher auction emcee, CBS Sports Anchor Gina Miller, and tournament Golf Chair, Gregg Ballew, shared announcements while the crowd nibbled on bites from Southern Comfort Catering and savored wine from Scardello. Gina detailed that Laurie Sutherlin and Kathy Cholette, event co-chairs, have set the auction and dinner at the Preston Hollow home of Faye Briggs on October 6th and the tournament at Stevens Park Golf Course on October 14th. Rotary members applauded when they learned that legendary sports anchor, Scott Murray, will be the golf emcee and that Fox Sports Southwest girls, Kamie and Liddy, will be there to mingle with the golfers.

Westapher Auction Party benefiting Nexus

Faye Briggs of the Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty family, a dedicated member of the Nexus Women's Auxiliary, hosted a Westapher Auction Party on Sunday October 9th at her Preston Hollow Home. Approximately 180 guests attended the event to mingle, shop the auction items, and support the wonderful cause of Nexus Recovery Center.

The evening celebrated the tournament players, sponsors and Nexus supporters. Complimentary food was provided by Maggiano’s, and wine and Champagne provided by Briggs Freeman. The live auction alone raised just under $30,000 for the cause.
