Friends of the Warren Center host Kickoff for the Art of Music Gala, Synesthesia

The Friends of The Warren Center hosted a kickoff for the Inaugural Art of Music Gala Synesthesia on Thursday, May 5^th at Hotel ZaZa’s Art House. Over 100 guests enjoyed light bites from Hotel ZaZa’s Dragonfly restaurant while sipping on house wine, Moscow Mule cocktails and local Dallas beers. All sponsored by Ben Smithee and Hotel ZaZa. Guests also enjoyed live painting by Christina Yielding and music by UT Arlington’s jazz trio group.

The Art of Music Gala Host Committee Chair and Kickoff Sponsor, Ben Smithee, announced The Inaugural Art of Music Gala which will be hosted by The Friends of The Warren Center on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Southside on Lamar Ballroom.

The Art of Music Gala will include five renowned musicians who will compose an original composition inspired by this year’s theme of “Synesthesia” - a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. Imagine that when you see a city's skyline, you taste blackberries. Or maybe when you hear a violin, you feel a tickle on your left knee. Perhaps you are completely convinced that Wednesdays are light red. If you have experiences like these, you might have synesthesia.

Each composition will then be delivered to five world-class artists to create five one of a kind works of art - purely inspired by the compositions. The result is a night of celebration and performance where each original composition and its inspired work of art will be unveiled and performed live at the Gala.

 

Each completely unique piece of art and original manuscript/recording of the compositions that inspired will be auctioned off live, with the proceeds going directly to The Warren Center.

On the {Charity} Scene: Young Friends of Wilkinson Center White Party Kickoff Event at Hotel Zaza

Young Friends of Wilkinson Center held their big White Party Kickoff event at Hotel Zaza, where patrons could buy White Party tickets and Young Friend memberships for a discounted rate and learn more about the Young Friends of Wilkinson Center.

In addition, they raffled off a VIP White Party table and sold sponsorships for the White Party.

TJ Martell Foundation's Best Cellars Dinner was a Night of Fine Wines and Gourmet Dinner

The T.J. Martell Foundation’s 2^ndAnnual Best Cellars Dinner Dallas, which was held May 1, 2014 at Hotel ZaZa, was a huge success doubling its attendance from last year’s event and drawing attention to the collaborative efforts of two local medical institution’s quest to stamp out lung cancer forever. The exclusive night of fine wine and food was hosted by the area’s top chefs.

Dallas music favorite Ray Johnston performed while guests feasted on (name some great meals here) and premier wines provided by wine hosts. Some wines were also provided from the area’s top private wine cellars.

The Best Cellars Dinner Dallas was chaired by Chris and Nita Hudson with John & Mary Martha Pickens serving as Honorary Chairmen. The four-course gourmet dinner was prepared by guest chefs Chef Dan Landsberg of Hotel ZaZa's Dragonfly Restaurant, Chef Bradford Hodgkins of FT33, Chef Cody Sharp of Casa Rubia and Chef Lance Smith formerly of Smoke. Fine wines from the private cellars and local wine hosts were perfectly paired with each meal and served tableside.

The Best Cellars live auction featured a trip to the Country Music Awards with a silent auction featuring music and culinary experiences and other exclusive items, all of which benefitted charity.

The Party in Blue will feature fashion designs from three of Dallas’ hottest young designers including Elizabeth Anyaa, Edgar Gomez, and Izavel, as well as designs from fashion powerhouse Escada. Come watch a living mannequin fashion show of all the latest designs, in Blue, from these rising fashion stars and established fashion house. The Fashion portion of the party is held and produced by The Pro Artist Group, a collection of fashion artists including celebrity stylist Jeanette Chivvis from WFAA’s Good Morning Texas; Paige Anderson, celebrity hair and make-up artist; and fashion photographer Randy Anderson. The evening will encapsulate the latest fashion styles, trends and talent of Dallas’ most fashion-forward designers, all to raise money for the Blue Cure Foundation.

Lee Park Junior Conservancy Cocktail Hour

HOTEL ZAZA PARTNERS WITH TURNER CARROLL GALLERY
TO BRING NEW CONTEMPORARY ART SPACE TO DALLAS

Hotel ZaZa Dallas has announced it will collaborate with Santa Fe's Turner Carroll Gallery and Art Advisors to bring internationally acclaimed art exhibitions to the newly opened Stay ZaZa Art House & Social Gallery.

The first exhibition will feature noted artist Ashley Collins. She will unveil new works from her Twelve O’Clock body of work, in addition to her sought after paintings of larger than life horses and abstract works inspired by her travels through the African desert. The show will open to the public Friday, January 28 and remain on display through the end of March. The Art House and Social Gallery will be open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Twelve O’Clock pieces are highly conceptual and consist of 12 original paintings that were inspired by a photograph found of a French Foreign Legionnaire and the relationship he has with his horse. Each painting is named for and captures the relationship between the two at specific five-minute intervals of the clock. Collins’ intent is to show how every relationship in life is constantly in motion and changing. It has been suggested that the horse and the man could substitute for any two individuals in the world.

During the Dallas exhibition, Collins is donating 10 percent of the proceeds to America SCORES Dallas to assist in their efforts to provide Dallas elementary school students a safe, healthy and educational after-school experience through soccer and poetry.

The Stay ZaZa Art House & Social Gallery is available for events such as art exhibits, business meetings, social events, and many more. Private events may be scheduled for 16 to 150 guests. Through this venue, Hotel ZaZa is able to showcase its full-service hotel and catering services, while also offering creative freedom to the guest.
