Alley's House Luncheon
Thursday, October 8
House of Blues Dallas
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
The need is great as Dallas County continues to have one
of the highest rates of teen births in the state and the highest rate of repeat
teen births. Teen moms face enormous challenges including higher school dropout
rates, greater levels of depression, and increased odds of living in
poverty.
The goal of Alley's House is to provide a nurturing, stable environment for these
young women by providing counseling, education, personal, career, and family
services to enable them to achieve academic success, personal growth, and
financial independence. The mothers who enter Alley's House
Pathway program are willing and capable of transformation that will positively
affect their lives as well as their children. In addition to their onsite
services, Alley's House is adding community outreach to schools, state, and
community organizations serving young mothers across North Texas.
This luncheon and its supporters ensure that Alley's House can continue to provide the educational resources, mental health services, and career development that teen mothers throughout North Texas need to live a richer, more fulfilling life for themselves and their families.
