Alyssa Milano said, "I’m truly grateful to be part of this special family making a difference for our world’s children.  I say family, because to me, that’s what UNICEF is: a global family. Becoming a mother has only intensified the pride I feel for this organization.  No parent should ever have to go through the pain and suffering of losing their child to preventable causes.  I hope that my dedication to UNICEF one day inspires my own children to take action and live a life that focuses on giving.”

Furniture 4 Kids Event Challenges Architecture and Design Firms To Benefit Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless

Since 2006, GL Seaman & Co and OFS Brands have partnered to host the Furniture 4 Kids event in which architecture and design firms transform a child’s toy box into works of art. The competition concludes with a gala and silent auction in which bidders purchase the toy boxes and judges rank the submissions. Since inception, this event has raised over $100,000 for local charities.

This year’s gala will be held on Thursday, February 19th at Sixty Five Hundred from 5-9 pm. The gala will serve as a celebration of efforts for the design firms and sponsors. Dinner and drinks will be provided for all in attendance and Lisa Garza, celebrity chef and owner/operator of Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar, will lend her culinary expertise to create the dinner menu for the top level sponsors of the evening.

Recently, the event benefitted the Mavs Foundation with guest appearances at the gala by former Dallas Mavericks stars Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. This year’s event will benefit Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless and help fund the developmental and therapeutic programs offered to homeless children at no cost to the parents.

Information and sponsorship packages can be found on Vogel Alcove’s website,http://www.vogelalcove.org/furniture4kids. For more information about the gala, please contact Ashley Pyle at apyle@ofsbrands.com or by phone at 214-263-7865.
