Easter in Lee Park

Dallas’ beloved Easter tradition Easter in Lee Park, hosted by the Lee Park and Arlington Hall Conservancy and the City of Dallas returns to the park on Sunday, April 16 from 1:00pm - 4:00pmReal Housewife of Dallas’ LeeAnne Locken and Lifestyle Guru Steve Kemble will emcee the festivities.

Bring a picnic basket and blanket for an afternoon of festivities including the famed Lee Park Pooch Parade sponsored by Kroger, live music from The Gypsy Playboys and DJ Jen Miller, an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny and food trucks including Easy Slider and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe.

Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome (no retractable leashes please).  Non-profit animal rescue organizations including the SPCA amongst others will be on-site with adoptable pets.

At 2pm, the Lee Park Pooch Parade meanders down Turtle Creek Boulevard with winners selected by a panel of celebrity judges. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Best Group, Most Creative and Best Easter Inspired Outfit.    Registration for the Pooch Parade is $10.  To sign up in advance, go to www.LeeParkConservancy.org.

“On behalf of the Lee Park and Arlington Hall Conservancy, we are beyond excited to  again host Easter in Lee Park,” says Will Sale, board member and chair of the 2017 event.  “The crowd at last years’ event proved that Dallas was ecstatic for the return of this beloved tradition.”

Easter in the Park is free and open to the public for all ages.

Down & Dirty on the Boulevard with Chefs for Farmers

Chefs for Farmers presents Down and Dirty on the Boulevard, an outdoor food, wine and spirits festival to be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013. The celebration will bring local farmers, chefs and purveyors together at Lee Park in Dallas, Texas.

Chefs for Farmers "Mixin' it up on the Boulevard"

Pack up your blanket and bring your own wine glass for this outdoor foodie fest celebrating local farming.  Chefs for Farmers’ ‘Mixin’ it up on the Boulevard’ on May 6 at Lee Park will showcase tastings from more than 30 of Dallas’ top restaurants, samplings from 20 wineries and cocktails along with displays from local farmers, artisans and industry experts.  This outdoor food, wine and spirits festival brings together local farmers, chefs and purveyors.

Participating chefs include Abraham Salum, Al Havens, Anastasia Quiñones, Andre Natera, Andrew Bell, Andrew Ormsby, Blaine Staniford, Brian C. Luscher, Bruno Davaillon, Chad Houser, Dan Landsberg, David A. Temple, David Gilbert, Franchesca Nor, Garreth Dickey, Graham Dodds, Greg Bussey, Hollie Dorethy, Jack Perkins, Janice Provost, Jason Maddy, Jeff Harris, Jeffrey Hobbs, Jill Bates, John Tesar, Jon Stevens, Josh Black, Katherine Clapner, Matt McCallister, Nathan Tate, Randall Copeland, Sarah Green, Scott Gottlich, Scott Romano, Tiffany Derry and Tre Wilcox.  Austin’s James Holmes of Olivia joins the Chefs for Farmers roster along with San Antonio’s Jason Dady of The Lodge Restaurant and David Gilbert of Stephan Pyles’ newest venture Sustenio.Pit masters Justin Fourton of Pecan Lodge, Travis Mayes of Meshack’s Bar-b-que Shack and Tim McLaughlin and Will Fleischman of Lockhart Smokehouse will be firing up the grills for some down home, Texas style BBQ bites. 

Dallas legend Stephan Pyles will be honored as head chair, with honors also given to Kent Rathbun and Dean Fearing for their outstanding community outreach and support of local growers.
