Dallas Zoo Kid to Do Party Safari

 
Hey, party animals! During the 125th Anniversary of the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Zoological Society is excited to announce the second annual Kid To Do at the Dallas Zoo. Set for June 1, 2013, the block party style event, themed Party Safari, promises to be a wildly amusing evening for parents and their children. Jamie, the youngest giraffe at the Dallas Zoo, is stepping out as this year’s “safari guide” and promises it will be an evening to remember!

The event will feature kid-friendly fare and exciting entertainment such as bounce houses, a live DJ, face painting and arts and crafts, as well as unique animal encounters, a private bird show in the Wildlife Amphitheater, and much, much more! Proceeds from Kid To Do enable the Dallas Zoological Society to continue in its mission to support the Dallas Zoo as an outstanding center of education, entertainment, and wildlife conservation.

1st Annual Kid to Do was wild success

The first annual Kid To Do at the Dallas Zoo “Monkey See, Monkey Do” benefiting the Dallas Zoological Society on June 2, 2012 was a huge success! Following in the footsteps of its big brother Zoo To Do, Kid To Do featured approximately 20 restaurants that served kid-friendly fare along with fun, festive activities for the whole family.
Founding Host Family Olivia Brittingham, Isabella Brittingham, Kary Brittingham, Alex Brittingham, Sophia Brittingham and Eduardo Brittingham
Maria Martineau Plankinton and Emily Vafa teamed up to chair the event, and more than 250 Dallas families helped raise $211,000 for the Dallas Zoological Society. Honorary Chairs for the event were Jennifer and John Eagle, and Tracy and Kent Rathbun served as Honorary Restaurant Chairs.

Parents and children alike mixed and mingled for a wildly amusing evening at the first annual Kid To Do 2012 and enjoyed entertainment by award-winning children’s singer and performer Eddie Coker, giraffe feedings in the Giants of the Savanna exhibit, exploration of the new Koala Walkabout exhibit, animal encounters, bounce houses including a fast-moving zip line, a DJ and dancing, a private viewing of the bird show SOAR – A Festival of Flight bird show, face painting, and more!

For the past 20 years, Zoo To Do has become one of our city’s most popular and highly-anticipated events for adults. Kid To Do at the Dallas Zoo builds on that long-standing tradition but includes and celebrates the Dallas Zoo’s youngest fans! This fun party, geared toward children ages 2-12, will be held on Cat Green as well as in the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo and will feature Dallas’ finest kid-friendly cuisine and exciting entertainment including giraffe feedings, camel rides, DJ, face painting, bounce houses, arts and crafts, animal encounters with our furry Zoo friends and much more! We are particularly thrilled that guests will be able to visit the award-winning Giants of the Savanna exhibit and have a private viewing of the bird show SOAR, A Festival of Flight, in the stunning new Dallas Zoo Amphitheater.
