DADA is Calling for Docents

 
Dallas Art Dealers Association is seeking high school and community college students to be docents for its upcoming Gallery Walk on September 20.
 
This is a great opportunity for students to meet gallery professionals, to work on public speaking skills, to learn about the business of art, as well as, about artists.
 
Required orientation for the DADA Docents program is Saturday, September 13 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at The MAC, 3120 McKinney Ave.

The Business of Art: Public Art 101

Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA), Creative Arts Center (CAC), The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), and now the Business Council for the Arts (BCA) and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), are pleased to announce their collaboration called The Business of Art.
 
The workshop series offers hands-on opportunities to explore being in the fine art business. The fall workshop The Business of Art: Public Art 101 will be Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The MAC, 3120 McKinney Ave.
 
It will include public art basics and beyond, from finding the call for artists to the completion of projects. Participants will receive in-depth information and public art resource materials from the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.
 
Tickets are available for $25 in advance, $35 at the door. The cost includes lunch and seminar resource materials for each attendee. (It’s $15 in advance with no lunch, $25 at the door with no lunch.) Proceeds will benefit the Edith Baker Art Scholarship. DADA'S 25th Anniversary Party


What a fun way to enjoy your Saturday! Come on down to the new Dallas Contemporary in the Design District to celebrate the Dallas Art Dealers Association's (DADA'S) 25th Anniversary. This party will not be lacking anything: DJ Masai will be spinning the best of the 80's, 90's and 2010 for great dancing, Darian Thomas fashion show, pop up dance by members of The Dallas Conservatory, art exhibitions and previews and so much more!
