Inaugural UNICEF Gala Dallas Honored Rob and Sheryl Lowe

On Saturday evening, February 3rd, the Great Plains Regional Office of UNICEF USA hosted the inaugural UNICEF Gala Dallas at The Ritz-Carlton, celebrating and raising funds for UNICEF’s work to save and improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.

The event honored Rob and Sheryl Lowe with the Global Philanthropist Award for their work in raising awareness both locally and globally for women, education and children’s rights.

 The Kimberly-Clark Corporation received the UNICEF Children First Award for their commitment to raising awareness and funds for UNICEF. Over the course of the evening, guests enjoyed remarks from emcee Brooke Burke-Charvet, along with an acoustic set by singer/ songwriter, Skylar Grey, who performed “Coming Home,” “Clarity,” “Love the Way You Lie,” amongst others, a seated dinner and a live auction presented by Andrew Bost.

More than 370 guests attended the gala that raised over $1.3 million in support of UNICEF’s global mission. Notable attendees included President & CEO of UNICEF USA Caryl Stern, event Co-Chairs Moll Anderson and Jan Miller Rich, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Kimberly Chandler, Courtney Kerr, and leadership committee members Joyce Goss, Amee Joshi, Jessica Nowitzki, Selwyn Raynor, Leigh Rinearson, Gowri Sharma and D’Andra Simmons.

Auction packages featured a Nashville Experience that includes seats at the 2018 CMA Awards, a Duke University “Behind the Scenes” Experience to tour the University’s world-renowned programs, a Blackberry Farm Getaway with a three-night stay at the award-winning farm, and a UNICEF Field Visit to learn more about lifesaving programs that are reaching the world’s most vulnerable children. 

Rob Lowe and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, surprised guests by presenting special packages and taking over the role of auctioneer to help UNICEF USA raise over 1.3 million dollars.
