Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas Celebrate Great Futures at Patron Party

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, Kathy and Harlan Crow welcomed guests into their Highland Park estate for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) Inaugural Great Futures Luncheon Patron Party.

Guests filled the Crows’ remarkable library and had the opportunity to view one of the largest private American collections while enjoying an impressive display of hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and wine.

The evening also included a short presentation, which was kicked off by Charles English, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. English graciously thanked the luncheon sponsors and reminded them that their contributions are helping to develop the “mind, body and soul” of each student and expand Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.

He then introduced Tracey McConduit, program director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, who discussed the Center for a New Generation (CNG) program, which will provide fun, hands-on, project-based activities in the areas of STEM and applied arts, such as robotics, modern dance and debate.

Christopher Trowbridge, chairman of the board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas Partner at Bell Nunnally, then took the stage to recognize BGCD Board Members in attendance and invite the Great Futures Luncheon Co-Chair and President of Steelecreek Management, George Watson, to give a few remarks. Watson stated, “Many at-risk children have found a home at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and we are ecstatic that CNG will give the members an unparalleled opportunity to explore fine arts. He then went on to say that, 77 percent of BGCD members make A’s and B’s.”
