What Will You Bring to the Table?

WeeVolunteer and the Volunteer Center of North Texas have joined forces with generationOn to kickoff a new project focused on addressing the issue of childhood hunger.

The new project, "What Will You Bring to the Table?" rolls out with a HUGE kickoff event at the North Texas Food Bank. We will tour NTFB's awesome facility, learn about their Food 4 Kids program, pack bags full of food for children in need, take a pledge to end child hunger and sign our names to a canvas 'table cloth.' Our goal is to have the 'table cloth' hung in local restaurants to encourage others to help end child hunger, and to have the pledge approved by The Guinness Book of World Records as the largest pledge ever.
After we take the pledge, we will head outside to meet up with the Arby's "Hungry for Happiness" truck where we will play fun games, learn about nutrition and of course, eat some great food. Please check out Arby's "Hungry for Happiness" truck at http://vimeo.com/47468985.

Did you know...
  • in America, nearly one in five children - about 16 million - live in households that struggle to put food on the table?
  • in Texas, child hunger statistics are higher than the national average?
Childhood hunger is a major problem in our country - but IT IS SOLVABLE!
Join the movement and help us end child hunger...
