The Limelight: The Dallas Sierra Club

The Sierra Club has over 750,000 members and is America's oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization. The Club was founded in 1892 by John Muir who had an interest in preserving the land that is now Yosemite National Park. The Dallas chapter conducts over 150 outings a year free of charge. These trips include day hikes around Dallas, trips to state parks, and backpacking trips to national wilderness areas. The Dallas Sierra Club's main focus is to promote the health of our planet, local community, and the mindful use and preservation of the Earth's resources.

Information: The Dallas Regional Group hosts a general meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 7p.m. Find local meeting information here.
