Job Opportunity:
Volunteer Coordinator

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, placement and ongoing management of volunteers along with managing relationships with areas of volunteer service throughout Children's Health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic relationships with various departments and areas of service throughout the organization to provide placements for volunteer service. This includes developing and maintaining successful volunteer positions, training, and ongoing management efforts.
  • Recruit appropriate individual volunteers and groups throughout the community to fulfill the volunteer needs of the organization.
  • Select and onboard volunteer candidates. This includes facilitating various orientation sessions, reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, assessing appropriate roles and ensuring all training is completed.
  • Maintain volunteer records to ensure that they are up to date including annual background checks, annual training, annual performance evaluations, annual health check and ongoing communication efforts with volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing supervisory responsibilities for volunteers; addressing performance issues, recognizing successes and problem solving issues as they arise.
  • Represent Children's Health in interactions with the community at large through work with service groups, corporate donors, local schools/universities, the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center, non-profit service organizations, donors and many others.
  • Insure that all regulatory and compliance related policies, guidelines and procedures are followed. This includes education of staff in other departments and volunteers on how regulatory standards affect them.
  • Serve as a resource for organizational problem solving.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Social Services, Public Relations or Business, is required.

Job Description
Do you have a knack for getting the right emails into the right inboxes at the right times? Do you live to see those open and click-through rates climb higher and higher? We’re seeking an expert email marketer to join our team. You’ll be expected to develop and track email campaigns to increase the involvement of individual/corporate donor/volunteer constituents.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for creating email marketing campaigns to promote the mission of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas:  to change lives forever in North Dallas. Determines target audience, devises campaigns, coordinates scheduling with social media campaigns and launches email campaigns to positively impact the areas of education, financial stability and health in North Dallas.
  • Create email marketing campaigns to promote products or services.
  • Ensure marketing message is conveyed clearly and delivered properly to prospects.
  • Ensure messages are sent in proper form and branding.
  • Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
  • Develop a personalization strategy.
  • Include specific branded graphics, incentives, and detailed descriptions.
  • Review messages for brevity.
  • Send messages to those who have opted in for messages.
  • Ensure messages are mobile-device friendly
  • Track and analyze direct and interactive marketing campaigns.
  • Use statistical analysis and reports to create campaigns.
  • Provide management periodic reporting of email metrics of campaigns to support ROI
  • Manage various email campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to-action, and content used in our email sends.
  • Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions (content downloads, site page visits, etc.).
  • Measure results and optimize the lead nurturing workflows for these segments to convert leads into customers.
  • Work to minimize list decay and unsubscribes while increasing the productivity of our email sends.
  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions that succeed through email.
  • Stay current with changing technology trends and approaches in e-commerce and email

Job Requirements
Education:  BA/BS or equivalent working experience.
Experience:  3 + years experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and web analytics.

Skills/Abilities
  • Experience with Constant Contact, MailChimp desired. Highly desired is Salesforce.com Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget).
  • Excellent understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics such as Sender Score, deliverability, and sender reputation.
  • Proficiency in email marketing and marketing automation technology.
  • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization.
  • Excellent writer and communicator (in both the written and verbal form).
  • Comfortable coding in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Develop templates that are responsive to accept device-independent sizing requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation and other aspects of email execution, as required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as part of a team.

  • Challenges exec committee to:
    • Have a full event calendar for several months (assist where necessary)
    • Consistently grow the database of influencers (utilizing entire chapter community)
  • Manages the culture of exec committee, events and overall awareness and influence of chapter
  • Ultimately responsible for chapter:
    • Maintaining a full calendar of events
    • The quality and culture of those events (Lead by Segment Leads and overseen by Director)
    • The quality of influencers who attend events and participate in chapter
    • Management of Segment Leads and their success
