The Business of Art: Public Art 101

Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA), Creative Arts Center (CAC), The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), and now the Business Council for the Arts (BCA) and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), are pleased to announce their collaboration called The Business of Art.
 
The workshop series offers hands-on opportunities to explore being in the fine art business. The fall workshop The Business of Art: Public Art 101 will be Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The MAC, 3120 McKinney Ave.
 
It will include public art basics and beyond, from finding the call for artists to the completion of projects. Participants will receive in-depth information and public art resource materials from the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.
 
Tickets are available for $25 in advance, $35 at the door. The cost includes lunch and seminar resource materials for each attendee. (It’s $15 in advance with no lunch, $25 at the door with no lunch.) Proceeds will benefit the Edith Baker Art Scholarship. 15th Annual Blue Yule at The MAC

‘Tis the season for the 15th Annual Blue Yule at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary! Come support your favorite blue gallery with our special holiday fundraiser featuring handmade ornaments by local artists and art patrons. The festivities begin 5:30pm till 7:30pm on Saturday, December 4. Early birds will have the best choice of ornaments! Blue Yule supports The MAC by raising funds for 2011 artistic and educational programming.

The annual fundraiser features those crazy, audacious holiday ornaments made by creative, eccentric artists and patrons. They are sure to make your holiday season twinkle with joy.

Complimentary food courtesy of Eatzi's and beverages, including the famous Blue Yule Punch. Dance the night away with a surprise DJ who will be rocking more than just Christmas jingles while you browse the silent auction tables.

$20.00 for the general public and $15.00 for MAC members at the door. The MAC is located at 3120 McKinney Avenue, between Oak Grove and Bowen.
