MTV ReDefine

My sisters and I had such a blast as co-chairs of this year's MTV ReDefine!  It was a treat to get to work together and an honor to work with Joyce Goss and Kenny Goss to raise money for two worthwhile causes, MTV's Staying Alive Foundation and The Dallas Contemporary.

The tables were set with Veuve Cliquot and food from The Joule Hotel's new restaurant, Americano which hasn't even opened yet!  They donated all of the food and service so that we were able to give more back to the beneficiaries.

The parking lot of the Goss Michael Foundation was tented and transformed into this magical ballroom.

Our auctioneer was the charming and talented Alexander Gilkes of Paddle 8 who helped us raise over 2.2 Million Dollars!  So exciting!  Thank you to everyone who donated a piece or placed a bid!

The Goss-Michael Foundation Selected in US Top Ten Private Contemporary Art Museums

 

 Goss-Michael Foundation (goss-michaelfoundation.org) has been honored to be selected as one of the top ten private contemporary art museums in the United States by artnet© News .  The Goss-Michael Foundation joins an esteemed list including The Brant Foundation Study Center, the Rubell Family Collection and notable others.  The Goss-Michael Foundation and the Linda Pace Foundation are two Texas foundations honored this year.

 

The Goss-Michael Foundation is one of the leading contemporary British art collections in the United States. Founded by George Michael and Kenny Goss in 2007, the Goss-Michael Foundation has made its place in Dallas and across the United States as a unique art space dedicating its exhibition programming to some of the most important artists in recent contemporary art history including Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Marc Quinn, and Michael Craig-Martin.

 

“When George Michael and I originally envisioned a museum solely focused on YBAs, we wanted to educate the public about the extraordinary art talents established and emerging in the UK.  As a Dallas native, I was fortunate to bring this collection to the city and find a home for The Goss-Michael Foundation.  The hundreds of thousands of U.S. and international visitors who have walked through our doors have been able to enjoy and meet some of the greatest UK artists,” said Kenny Goss.

 

The Goss-Michael Foundation has continued its extensive support of UK causes and artists by bringing the MTV RE:DEFINE event to Dallas for three years.  MTV RE:DEFINE (www.mtvredefine.com ) is a dynamic exhibition and auction that brings together music with iconic and specially commissioned artworks by established and emerging talent.  It has raised close to USD$4 million to date. Scheduled for April 10, 2015, and held at The Goss-Michael Foundation, the event is produced in collaboration with and benefits The MTV Staying Alive Foundation, The Goss-Michael Foundation and Dallas Contemporary.
