Charlotte Jones Anderson To Lead NCAA Final Four Events in 2014

What an exciting couple of months it has been for our dear friend Charlotte Jones Anderson. Last month, we reported that Charlotte was appointed as Chairwoman of the Board for the NFL Foundation. Anderson also serves as Chair of The Salvation Army's National Advisory Board.

It was announced yesterday that Charlotte Jones Anderson has another new title. She has been elected Chair of the North Texas Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the group responsible for hosting the 2014 NCAA Men’s Final Four Championship at Cowboys Stadium from April 6-8, 2014.
"Charlotte is a natural to lead this effort," said Rick Baker, President & CEO of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. "Five years ago she led the bid process to bring this event to Cowboys Stadium."

In addition to the tournament, the NCAA will host an event similar to the NFL Experience, providing interactive areas for children, live concerts and other entertainment.

The LOC’s Board of Directors includes Anderson; Baker; George Bayoud, President of Bayoud & Company, Inc.; Rolando Blackman, former Dallas Mavericks great; Bob Bowlsby, Commissioner of the Big 12 Conference; Jay Burress, President/CEO of the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau; Hinojosa; Philip Jones, CEO of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau; Nancy Lieberman, member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame; Gina Puente, CEO and Co-Founder of Puente Enterprises, Inc.; Terdema Ussery, President and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks; John Stankey, Senior Vice President, AT&T; Kathy Saunders, VP and General Manager of KDFW FOX 4; Alan White, Chairman and CEO of PlainsCapital Bank; Frank Windegger, former TCU Athletic Director.

Prior to the 2014 Final Four, Cowboys Stadium will also host the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional during the “Sweet 16” on March 29 and the “Elite 8” on March 31. Tickets to the regional matchups are now on sale through Ticketmaster online at ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. St. Jude Celebrates Another Year of Fundraising

Players including Tim Brown, Chad Campbell, Harrison Frazar & Lee Trevino kicked off the first of St. Jude's two annual fundraising events on October 17th at the St. Jude/Derek Harper Golf Classic. More than 200 additional golfers joined these notables at Stonebriar Country Club to help raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Best known for his chart-topping hits "Almost Home", "Red Neck Yacht Club", and "That's What I Love about Sunday", Craig Morgan headlined the second annual fundraiser on October 22nd —the St. Jude Evening Under the Star Party. Despite the neighboring World Series game at the Rangers Ballpark, 700 plus guests walked onto the field of Cowboys Stadium in Arlington where they enjoyed cocktails, dinner and a chance to bid on exclusive items during a live and silent auction.

Amy Vanderoef, Mistress of Ceremonies, led a lively presentation which included a few words from 16 year old local St. Jude patient Brittany Yeager. She shared that the guests in the audience, not Superman or any Cowboys or Rangers player, were her heroes.
Lydia Novakov, Bob Baillargeon, Colleen Baillargeon

These two events raised more than $620,000, and the proceeds go directly to St. Jude to help fund the research and treatment of children with catastrophic diseases. All research and treatment conducted at St. Jude is then shared freely with hospitals around the country and world including our local hospitals in the DFW metroplex.

This year's events honored Doug Brooks, Brinker International CEO, his wife Holly and the Chili’s Grill & Bar team for their longstanding support of St. Jude. Chili's has donated more than $40 million to date. Chili's overall efforts have, among other achievements, helped build a state-of-the-art-building named the Chili's Care Center, which houses the bone marrow transplant inpatient floor, the Department of Radiological Sciences, inpatient activity areas and research laboratories.

St. Jude is excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the hospital at their 2012 event next year. For more information on how to participate contact Christina Baugh at 972.594.8080.

Craig Morgan will headline the annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Evening Under the Star party on October 22nd, 2011 at Cowboys Stadium.

Best known for the runaway hits "Almost Home","Red Neck Yacht Club", and "That's What I Love about Sunday", Craig will entertain an expected crowd of 800+ on the Dallas Cowboys field where guests can dine, punt and throw through the quarterback toss.
Co-chaired by Lydia Novakov and Marian Bryan, the party follows the St. Jude/Derek Harper Golf Classic on Monday, October 17th, 2011 at Stonebriar Country Club. Participating golfers, including Derek Harper, will play on teams of four ($500 a team) and can participate in either a morning or afternoon shotgun start. Morning players will wrap up with a luncheon and awards ceremony, while the afternoon awards will be presented during an end-of-day cocktail awards reception.

This year's events will honor Doug Brooks, Brinker International CEO, his wife Holly and the Chili’s Grill & Bar team for their longstanding support of St. Jude. Chili's has donated more than $35 million to St. Jude, which has helped build a state-of-the-art-building named the Chili's Care Center.
