Karl Chiao, executive director of the Dallas Historical Society (DHS) is thrilled to announce the Dallas History Makers Awards for Excellence Luncheon chairs Daniel Murchison and Laura Woodall and honorary chairs, The Collins Family: Dick Collins, Calvert Collins-Bratton and Vince Bratton; Genevieve Collins-DeCarme and Dwight DeCarme.
DHS is kicking off its second century with a new awards luncheon logo and name while continuing to honor its traditions and the Dallas History Makers of today and introducing a new awards category: Dallas Historical Society’s Benefactor of the Year.
The awards were established on behalf of the Trustees of the Dallas Historical Society in 1981. Outstanding individuals and organizations are selected for this honor from nominations solicited from the Dallas community. The recipients are chosen for their contribution to the quality of life in Dallas in multiple categories, including Arts Leadership, Creative Arts, Education, History, Humanities, Philanthropy, Sports Leadership, and Volunteer Community Leadership.
Slated for Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Fairmont Hotel’s International Ballroom, the morning begins as guests mix and mingle prior to a three-course luncheon, inspiring videos honoring the award recipients sharing their often untold stories and highlighting their contributions to Dallas, and awards presentations. The event is topped off with the traditional A.C. Greene Champagne Toast.

Humanities – Friends of Aldredge House
Jubilee History Maker - Michael Boone

Volunteer Community Leadership - Tori Mannes
Table sponsorships begin at $1,500 up to $12,500 with different levels of benefits. Individual Sponsorship tickets begin at $600 and include one ticket to the Patron Party and preferred seating. A limited number of individual tickets will be available at $300 and $175.
