With a 40 percent jump in the number of Americans going hungry due to COVID-19, a group has launched a new way to tackle the nation's surging hunger epidemic.
Souper Bowl of Caring is kicking off its Tackle Hunger campaign at the beginning of September to coincide with Hunger Action Month and the beginning of the football season.
The group’s new online Tackle Hunger Map -- an interactive tool created by the Souper Bowl of Caringmovement -- links individuals, churches, schools, and civic groups with local food charities so they can respond immediately to the most urgent needs in their communities.
The Tackle Hunger Map shows people where they can find their closest food bank or food pantry, giving them an easy way to donate or host a food drive. Food charities can list their own specific needs, so people know what items are in short supply.
