Join New Friends New Life for their Virtual Luncheon Event featuring a conversation with sex trafficking survivor and criminal justice reform advocate Cyntoia Brown-Long on Friday, September 18, 2020, at 11:30 am. Arrested at the age of 16, Cyntoia was sentenced as an adult to life in prison without parole for killing a man who solicited her for sex. After her story received a groundswell of worldwide attention, she was released on August 7, 2019 after serving 15 years, receiving a commuted sentence from Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam.
