The Cooper Institute®, a nonprofit health organization founded by Dr. Kenneth Cooper and based in Dallas, will host its annual Legacy Award Dinner on November 2nd at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
This year's event will feature an all-star lineup with event chair David Glass, Legacy Award recipient Drayton McLane, Jr., keynote speaker and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett along with moderator, Emmy® Award-winning Kansas City Royals broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre. Longtime media personality Scott Murray will once again serve as master of ceremonies. The annual Legacy Award Dinner will raise funds to support the mission of The Cooper Institute to improve global population health with a particular focus on youth and raising a healthier generation.
The annual Legacy Award dinner celebrates the critically important mission of The Institute and honors the visionary leaders who have improved the lives and health of men, women and children across the country and around the world. Past Legacy Award recipients include Ray Hunt, Peter O'Donnell, Jr., the late Fred Meyer, Lyda Hill and Roger Staubach.
McLane is well known for his many philanthropic endeavors and community enrichment initiatives, and his dedication to service through works with The Cooper Institute, the Boy Scouts of America, Baylor University, Baylor Scott and White Health and many other worthwhile organizations.
George Brett is considered baseball royalty and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. The 13-Time All-Star had an exciting and storied career that transcended the baseball diamond. Joining Brett is longtime Royals broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre.
