Women’s
Auxiliary of Nexus Recovery Center recently announced plans for their 2016 Spring Luncheon. The women's group is celebrating 20 years of service, giving and raising awareness for Nexus Recovery Center.
The luncheon will be held on April 21, 2016 at 11:30am at Dallas Country Club.
Sponsorship forms and tickets are available by contacting Event Chair, Carole Steele at carolesteele@sbcglobal.net.
Honorary Chair is Candice Romo - advocate and supporter of Nexus Recovery Center and wife of Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo.
This year's Guest Speaker is Steve Ford, son of former President Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford. Ford has successfully negotiated the bumpy road from the White House to a successful 20-year career as an actor in Hollywood.
A teenager when his father assumed the reins of the
presidency from Richard Nixon, Ford left the White House at age 18 to pursue
his dream of being a cowboy on cattle ranches out West, followed closely by his
ten secret service agents. He later went on to a successful acting career,
appearing in over 30 movies.
One of Ford's most rewarding roles has been that
of student motivational speaker. Taking time off from his Hollywood career, he
began traveling across the country to urge students to empower themselves
against harmful influences. He walks students through the early habits he
formed during his middle school, high school, and college years that led to his
alcohol addiction and he shares tools and actionable tasks that led him to
regain a life of personal integrity.
