BARBARA PIERCE BUSH KEYNOTES
NEW FRIENDS NEW LIFE LUNCHEON
Barbara Pierce Bush, CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, is the keynote speaker of the New Friends New Life “WINGS” Luncheon on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 300 Reunion Blvd. in Dallas. Her mother Laura Bush will be a special guest at the luncheon.
New Friends New Life (NFNL) restores and empowers trafficked girls and sexually exploited women and their children. By providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health and spiritual support, New Friends New Life helps women and their children overcome abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities.
New Friends New Life helped 657 women and teenage girls and their children last year. National statistics show that 80 percent of trafficked teens are runaways and more than 90 percent of exploited women were sexually abused as a child. “We are grateful to all the sponsors of this year’s 10th Annual WINGS Luncheon which celebrates 15 years of service” said Katie Pedigo, NFNL Executive Director.

About New Friends New Life:
New Friends New Life began by women helping women in 1998. NFNL provides holistic services for sexually exploited girls, women and their children. Staff and volunteers now provide counseling for women and their children, a program for children of protégés, and a therapeutic prevention program at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center. We partner with a number of agencies and individuals to provide legal assistance, medical services, budget counseling, job readiness training, and educational opportunities.
