Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children's 17th Annual Treasure Street

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children's 17th annual Treasure Street was a great success! The event, held on the grounds of the hospital, raised nearly $1 million and an estimated crowd of 1,300 guests were in attendance. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with live music, a live and silent auction and signature dishes from 14 renowned chefs across Texas. The weather was absolutely perfect for a party under the stars!

The event was co-chaired by Susan and Stephen Butt and Betsy and Richard Eiseman, Jr.

"Chef Chair" Dean Fearing was instrumental in not only securing some of the best chefs from around Texas to prepare their signature dishes, he also put his talents to use on stage when he and fellow chef Robert Del Grande entertained guests with the band The Barb Wires. Texas music legend Robert Earl Keen played along with them and even sung some of his most popular ballads for the crowd. A highlight of the evening was when two custom-made hunting buggies were auctioned off at the live auction for a total of $70,000. The Christopher Martin painting "Rainbow Mountain" that Chris and several TSRHC patients created was sold to Richard Eiseman who had the highest bid with $9,000.

Guests were also treated to the talents of The Chesterfield’s renowned mixologist Eddie “Lucky” Campbell who created a specialty bourbon concoction named the “Treasure Street Smash.”

About Treasure Street

Treasure Street was established in 1996 by a TSRHC patient family and their friends to raise funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis (TSC) Clinic at TSRHC, where their daughter is treated. They raised $150,000 the first year. In 1998, a Treasure Street Board of Directors was founded and they set a goal of making the hospital's TSC Clinic a "model" clinic for others around the world. They reached their goal and in 2007, the Treasure Street Board voted to utilize funds raised from the event to benefit all patients treated at TSRHC, making it the annual signature event of the Hospital.

Treasure Street Raises Over $1.2M for TSRH

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) celebrated its 90th birthday in October with more than 1,500 guests at Treasure Street, the hospital’s signature fundraising event. Friends from across the state joined in the momentous occasion that raised more than $1.2 million for the hospital. The 16th annual Treasure Street featured a live performance by Grammy-award winning artist Lee Ann Womack. Treasure Street honorary event chairmen were President and Mrs. George W. Bush, and the event chairmen were Carolyn & Karl Rathjen, M.D.

In celebration of the hospital’s birthday, a nine-foot-tall birthday cake served as the centerpiece for the room. A champagne toast and traditional singing of “Happy Birthday” complimented the festive event. More than 200 unique items were available in the silent auction ranging from gorgeous jewelry to kids items and unique sports packages for party guests to browse.

A highlight of the evening included an exhilarating live auction thanks to a donor who contributed a custom-made ranch and hunting buggy. After bidding reached an all time high on the item, he agreed to donate another buggy so that both bidders could receive one. The evening was a true celebration of the more than 200,000 patients the hospital has treated since it opened in 1921 and the generosity of the many friends who support the hospital’s mission. Treasure Street was established in 1996 by a group of TSRHC patient families with children affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). Through the years, event proceeds have provided important funds for the hospital’s TSC Clinic. These funds support advances in research such as the development of a commercial DNA test for TSC, a landmark breakthrough that benefits all children. Thanks to the support of Treasure Street, the TSC Clinic is a model clinic throughout the world today.

The 16th annual Treasure Street, signature event of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC), will serve as TSRHC’s official 90th birthday party on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Under the leadership of 2011 Treasure Street chairmen, Carolyn & Karl Rathjen, M.D., the highly anticipated evening will include a variety of celebratory activities and feature a live performance by Grammy award-winning singer Lee Ann Womack. This is an annual charity event that you don't want to miss!

To help celebrate TSRHC’s rich history, President and Mrs. George W. Bush will serve as honorary event chairmen. TSRHC was fortunate to have the Bush’s serve as honorary chairmen of the hospital’s 75th birthday celebration in 1996, and is honored to have them involved again. Dodge Carter is the 2011 Treasure Street Board Chairman, and Margaret Carter and Harold Carter are the Honorary Board Chairmen. Susan and Stephen Butt and Betsy and Richard Eiseman, Jr., are Treasure Street event co-chairmen elect.

Treasure Street will take place under a large, climate-controlled tent on hospital grounds to accommodate the more than 1,200 attendees expected to attend. Guests will enjoy various food offerings, bidding in the silent auction, and a “90th birthday toast” complete with cake and champagne. Texas-born singer and songwriter Lee Ann Womack will entertain the crowd with a special performance.

New to this year’s event, Heritage Auction Gallery, the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer, will host an online auction as a prelude to the event, with proceeds benefiting Treasure Street. Items such as a Verdura Maltese vintage cuff, a one of a kind Victory motorcycle and Miranda Lambert concert package, complete with backstage passes, will be featured. 15th Annual Treasure Street Event Raises More Than $1 Million For TSRHC

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) proudly announces that the 15th annual Treasure Street, the hospital’s signature event, raised more than $1 million this year. All proceeds from Treasure Street, presented by Northern Trust, benefit the patients at TSRHC.
More than 1,200 people attended the 2010 Treasure Street in a magical tent on the grounds of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

On Thursday, October 7, guests enjoyed a spectacular night filled with live and silent auction items, music by DJ Lucy Wrubel and delicious southern cuisine. The event’s live auction gave attendees the opportunity to bid on items such as four courtside owner’s seats to the Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks basketball game, a 2004 Victory motorcycle designed by Arlen Ness and autographed by NASCAR legend Kyle Petty, an iPod loaded with 2,000 of DJ Lucy Wrubel’s favorite songs as well as an original painting titled “Decade of Love” created by TSRHC patients and local artist Christopher H.
