2011 Dallas International Film Festival

The Dallas Film Society kicks off their 5th Annual Film Festival with grand style in the downtown Dallas Arts District on March 31, 2011.

Following a red carpet entrance, over 1,000 guests will join the festival in paying tribute to two incredible artists. Local, national and international dignitaries will join DFS in honoring Liener Temerlin, the Festival’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus. Temerlin earned his respected status as a businessman, arts patron, and the visionary who brought Dallas its first major film festival. The Festival also honors one of film’s most talented actresses, Ann-Margaret, with highlights from her classic films, including STATE FAIR, VIVA LAS VEGAS, and STAGECOACH before she accepts the award. Margot and Ross Perot are acting as Honorary Chairs of the Tribute.

The Festival’s Opening Night film, BEING ELMO: A PUPPETEER’S JOURNEY, screens with director Constance Marks in attendance. The evening culminates with the Opening Night Gala at the Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art.
