Hosted by the Friends of Wilkinson Center, the annual Spirit of Taos event brings a southwest flare with food, music and dancing!

 Guests enjoy a cocktail reception, where everyone has their drink of choice and some passed appetizers. A casual seated dinner follows, with tacos, brisket sliders, yuca fries and Emporium Pies. Guests enjoy live music, dancing and an amazing raffle.

Friends of Wilkinson Center Donned Fringe, Turquoise, and Boots for Spirit of Taos Event

The Spirit of Taos event was recently hosted by the Friends of Wilkinson Center at The Lot in Lakewood.

The event kicked off with a cocktail hour from 7-8pm that featured frozen margaritas and margaritas on the rocks followed by a seated dinner with food from The Lot and dessert by Emporium Pies.  Guests danced throughout the evening to tunes from Frank in the Middle and Downtown Fever.

 Silent auction and raffle items included several unique packages and experiences, including 7 nights at Morgan Bay in St. Lucia, Michael Blair abstract oil painting, luxury suite at Dallas Stars game, luxurious night out in downtown Dallas, and custom boots.

There was also a Kendra Scott station set up where jewelry mystery boxes were sold for $60/per box. Each box contained a piece of jewelry that ranged in value from $60-$120. KeoPix photobooth was set up for guests to take pictures with fun props.

Spirit of Taos Kickoff Party {with Society Pics}

Friends of The Wilkinson Center recently hosted their kick off party at Melissa Benge Collection for the upcoming Spirit of Taos event.  The fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 23^rd at the The Lot in Lakewood.

The kick off was a shopping event and an opportunity for everyone to get their outfit for the main Spirit of Taos event. Shoppers received 20% off all merchandise and in return Melissa Benge donated 10% of all proceeds from the evening back to Wilkinson Center.

Spirit of Taos will feature live music, dinner and dancing.  The evening will also include a raffle and a silent auction full of all kinds of great items such as: 7-night getaway to St. Lucia, Taos bling, Michael Blair original 46” X 46” oil on canvas abstract painting, Dallas Stars game in 18-person luxury suite, custom boots from The Olsen–Stelzer Boot Company, and much more.

Friends of Wilkinson Center gathered to celebrate The Spirit of Taos at this inaugural event.  The themed fundraiser was held at The Lot in Dallas on Friday, November 7th.

Guests were entertained by Michael Hearne of Taos fame. Honorary Chairs were Ann and Bob Dyer.  The event was a sell out -- a big success!

 

The raffle prizes included a weekend in Taos, complete with golf, wine tasting and gourmet dining; custom boots; champagne lunch for winner and 10 friends; and more.

Each guest was greeted with wine or a margarita. There was a cocktail reception from 6:30-7:45 which consisted of passed appetizers -- chicken and cheese quesadillas, mini pimento cheese sandwiches, tostadas and flautaus with avocado dipping sauce. There were also food stations set up with hummas and fried cauliflower. After the cocktail reception, attendees enjoyed a seated dinner -- a taco plate with 2 tacos and a brisket slider with yuca fries and queso, salsa, guacamole and chips. Emporium Pies offered a delicious chocolate and pecan pie dessert.

Friends of Wilkinson Center gathered on Tuesday, October 7th at Melissa Benge Collection to kick off their upcoming "Spirit of Taos" event.

Honorary Chairs Ann & Bob Dyer were among the Southwestern-Chic dressed guests. Socialites snacked on chicken and beef taquitos, queso, guacamole, and other small bites that fit the theme.

Friends of Wilkinson Center Present Inaugural Spirit of Taos Event

 

Friends of Wilkinson Center have created a new Fall event -- The Spirit of Taos -- in place of their annual White Gala.

 

This inaugural event will be held Friday, November 7, 2014, at The Lot in Dallas, from 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

 

Michael Hearne, of Taos fame, will be the Musical Guest.

Honorary Chairs are Ann and Bob Dyer.
