There will be a brief presentation on 2011 plans and projects, but primarily they want everyone to mingle and reconnect now that the year is off to a fast start. They will also conduct a vote for the 2011 Gala beneficiary, so you won't want to miss this happy hour!

SYP Hosts First Annual Holiday Party

‘Tis the season! You’re invited to celebrate the 2010 holiday season with SYP Dallas on Friday, December 10^th. The first annual holiday party will be held at J. Black’s Feel Good Lounge from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

$10 at the door gets you drink specials all night, plus 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Genesis Women’s Shelter. Guests are encouraged to go all out in festive or tacky holiday attire! What better way to celebrate the holidays than to support a good cause while mingling with friends?

SYP September Happy Hour

If you have not yet checked-out this blossoming new non-profit organization in Dallas, tomorrow is the perfect opportunity. The Society of Young Philanthropists is hosting its September Happy Hour tomorrow evening at Hall 2922 .

The group will announce the total funds raised at the first annual Retro Prom last weekend at The Candleroom as well as supply an update on their involvement in the upcoming All About Uptown Festival on September 25th. Tomorrow night, SYP will also be joined by members and representatives of the Dallas Chapter of the American Heart Association. Cheers, we'll see you there!

SYP Dallas Supports Genesis Women’s Shelter

Each year, the programs at Genesis Women’s Shelter continue to expand in response to the increased need for these services. The outreach counselors see an average of 1,000 women and children each year, and the Shelter houses 650 women and children annually. These families are escaping unspeakable violence, and the goal is to provide them with all the tools they need. From the moment a woman picks up the phone to call the hotline, to her arrival at the Shelter, to the ongoing counseling for her and her children, Genesis Women's Shelter is there to help her navigate the difficult road and achieve success she once only dreamed possible.

Several organizations stand behind Genesis in its efforts to promote a safe haven for those in need. The Society of Young Philanthropists is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization designed to create a network of distinguished professionals by promoting philanthropic causes through charitable events.

The SYP Dallas chapter continues its fundraising efforts to help benefit the shelter. SYP Dallas' Debut Gala was held at the Dallas Contemporary on May 22, 2010.



It was a beautiful red carpet event. Attendees came dressed to impress. SYP Dallas President Kent Arnold kicked it off welcoming Genesis Women's Shelter Executive Director Jan Langbein. From the cocktail bar to the table reservations to the DJ’s turntables and live band to the highly sought after silent auction items and contemporary art donated for bidding, distinguished guests enjoyed a spectacular and successful event. All proceeds benefited Genesis Women's Shelter.




Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin joined us at the SYP Dallas Debut Gala to support Genesis Women's Shelter.
