Chef Stephan Pyles and Celebrity Chef Friends Raise $160,000 At 10th Anniversary No Kid Hungry Dinner in Dallas

On the evening of Sunday, April 22, 2018, celebrity chefs from across the country united to end childhood hunger in America. Attendees arrived with an appetite at Stephan Pyles Flora Street Café at HALL Arts, ready to rally together and raise funds to support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. The sold-out event featured eight of the nation's top chefs along with approximately 100 guests. Together they raised $160,000, which will be used to connect kids with the meals they deserve in Dallas, Texas, and beyond.

The cocktail reception began at 6:00 p.m. as chefs greeted event goers who enjoyed cocktails while mingling and bidding on silent auction items until programming began at 7:00 p.m. Chefs were joined by Emcee and Auctioneer Billy Harris, who has participated in the event for ten consecutive years.

Hosted by Chef Stephan Pyles, the roster of notable chefs included: Chefs Peter Barlow, Flora Street Café; Mike Matis, Stampede 66; Dean Fearing, Fearings; Matt Lambert, The Musket Room; Tracy Miller, Local; Michael Ginor & Lenny Messina, Hudson Valley Foie Gras; and Mark Kiffin, The Compound Restaurant.

During the evening, Chef Pyles was recognized for his contribution to No Kid Hungry as a founding board member. He was a recipient of the No Kid Hungry Hero Award as a thank you to his contribution to the organization. Pyles has raised over $1 million in the past decade for No Kid Hungry.

The featured speaker for the evening was Debbie Shore, Co-Founder of Share Our Strength.  Notable guests included John and Pam Beckert, Brent Beckert, Jan and Dan Montgomery, Phyllis and Ellis Shamoon, Joan and David Sandfield Jackson, Tim Lavender and Lisa Moore.

No Kid Hungry, Citi and Stephan Pyles Bring Culinary Talent Together for 10th Anniversary No Kid Hungry Dallas Dinner

The No Kid Hungry Dinner, one of the city's most anticipated culinary events of the year, benefitting Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, returns to Stephan Pyles' Flora Street Café on Sunday, April 22, 2018 for its 10^th Anniversary. Eight top chefs including Host Chef Stephan Pyles, will join forces to help end child hunger while producing an evening of fine dining featuring elegant cuisine and wine pairings for guests to enjoy. Flora Street Café's Chef/Owner Stephan Pyles will be joined by Flora Street Café's Chef De Cuisine, Peter Barlow and Executive Chef Mike Matis of Stampede 66 by Stephan Pyles.

"Helping to end hunger has been my passion for more than 30 years. Narrowing my focus to childhood hunger is reflected in this important 10-year anniversary of the Dallas No Kid Hungry event." said Pyles.

Over the course of 10 years of fundraising dinners close to $1 million dollars has been raised at the Annual No Kid Hungry Dallas Dinner, hosted by Stephan Pyles, to help eradicate childhood hunger. Pyles is a founding board member of Share Our Strength and a recipient of its Humanitarian of the Year Award.

Guest Chefs scheduled to participate this year will include, Dean Fearing of Fearing's, Michael Ginor of NYC's Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Mark Kiffin of The Compound Restaurant (Santa Fe), Matt Lambert of The Musket Room (New York), and Tracy Miller of Local (Dallas).

Every year, the country's best chefs join with one goal in mind: end childhood hunger in America by supporting No Kid Hungry Dinners presented by Citi. In more than 15 cities across the nation, guests enjoy a one-of-a-kind, intimate dining experience curated by the nation's premier culinary talent and participate in unique food, travel and lifestyle auctions -all while raising funds for No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength's campaign to end childhood hunger in America. 

Tickets for the No Kid Hungry Dinner are on sale now. The event will be held at Flora Street Café at 2330 Flora Street. It will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM and will last until 9:00 PM. Table hosting opportunities are available starting at $2,500.
