Free Self-Defense Workshop Benefiting Genesis Women’s Shelter

Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense and the Dallas Police Department Help Celebrate International Women's Day with an Empowering Free Self-Defense Workshop benefiting Genesis Women's Shelter

To help celebrate International Women's Day in March, women across Texas are invited to the first biannual free women's self-defense workshop led by 10th degree black belt Professor Nick Chamberlain and the Northwest Patrol Division of the Dallas Police Department. Participants will learn techniques to avoid dangerous situations, fend off potential assailants and general self-defense methods and mentalities. Within the workshop attendees can ‘Break a Board for a Buck’ where they are taught how to break a wooden plank with their bare hand mimicking the motion that could break an assailant's nose and allow an escape. Each ‘buck’ offered benefits Genesis Women’s Shelter. And the Dallas Police Department will share safety tips and a Q&A session for all.

Attendees are not required but encouraged to wear comfortable/fitness attire and to bring a donation of cash or everyday household items to benefit Genesis. Those interested in participating can call 214.351.5367 or email info@dallaskenpo.com for more information.

Chamberlain Studios wants to expand the way the public thinks about violence prevention, help tackle common fears and empower the community. Participants will leave with greater awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies and physical techniques to help prevent, escape, resist and survive violent assaults.
