Good Local Markets Holiday Extravaganza

The 7th annual Good Local Markets Holiday Extravaganza takes place Saturday, December 12 from 9am-4pm at Lakeside Baptist Church (9150 Garland Road) and Sunday, December 13th from 10am - 3pm at Vickery Meadow Local Market (Half Price Books at 5803 E. NW HWY). Live entertainment provided by The Kingbucks (Saturday) and David Burris Group (Sunday).
 
Both Saturday and Sunday festivities include Gingerbread House Workshops from 1pm-2:30. Decorate a gingerbread house, family-style with all of the fixings. $25 per gingerbread house includes frosting, charms, candy and charms for your take-home piece of edible art. Register in advance at www.studiobellakids.com.
 
Showcasing the best artists, craftsmen, farmers and artisans including cheese, proteins, produce, desserts, jellies and more, the markets are a one stop shop for holiday gift-giving. Classic Adirondack chairs, natural skin care products, handcrafted jewelry, hand-poured candles, bird-feeders and houses, art, photographs, unique housewares, hair accessories, all natural dog treats, eco-friendly apparel and accessories for kids and adults, handmade ray guns and stuffed animals, repurposed books, vintage bikes and more join over fifty unique arts and crafts vendors for these special events.
 
A vibrant celebration of community and neighborhood, GLM and affiliate markets strengthen the local food economy and create awareness of the social, environmental, and health benefits of eating local foods. Artisans, farmers and ranchers are located within 150 miles.
 
Good Local Markets is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization which supports local farmers, ranchers and artisans by providing a public space to sell fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, hand-crafted foods and other products while serving thousands of residents looking for healthy and locally sourced foods.
