Dallas Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman can often be found on the Katy Trail for his routine runs, but on March 2, 2015, he and Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett will team up to serve as honorary co-chairs for the first-ever Katy Trail Ice House Invitational, presented by ISN. Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit Friends of the Katy Trail, the nonprofit organization responsible for trail maintenance and improvements.

The money raised will go toward lighting the popular Trail, adding trees and blooming plants, watering and maintaining the Trail to keep it beautiful, increasing the number of drinking fountains and hiring more off-duty police bike patrols.
The Katy Trail is the crucial centerpiece of the region's planned network of bike trails. Its 3.5-mile path runs through the Uptown and Oak Lawn areas of Dallas, following the path of the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, which was known as MKT or the Katy. The Friends of the Katy Trail has developed a Master Plan, which will eventually connect to the Trinity Strand Trail to the southwest and to the White Rock Trail to the northeast.
The Invitational’ s executive committee members are Chris Carrie, Jimmie Fell, David Harrison, Ben Ralston and Carlos Reyes.
