The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center will host the final show in its 2014 Encore for Advocacy concert series celebrating the transformative power of music therapy on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the historic Majestic Theatre in Dallas (1925 Elm Street Dallas, TX 75201) featuring An Evening with Patty Griffin and Mavis Staples with production by The Kessler Presents.
The benefit show will provide a unique opportunity to see Grammy Award-Winner Griffin and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Staples, two of music’s most beloved singers, in an intimate setting with proceeds supporting the music therapy program for abused children at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
Proceeds from Encore for Advocacy support DCAC’s work to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC utilizes music therapy as a tool to enhance relaxation, help reduce post-traumatic stress, and create a transformative safe place that victims can tap into on their journey to healing. When there are no words, music gives children a voice.
