Cafe Momentum Chosen as Mission Partner for WOATS

WOATS, the indulgent and all-natural gently-baked soft Oatsnack has selected Café Momentum as a mission partner through October 31, 2013.  $1 from each bag of WOATS ordered on WOATS.com and $2 from each bag ordered via Artizone.com will benefit the program dedicated to equipping our communities’ most at-risk youth with life skills, education and work opportunities to impact the future course of a young life.

Inspired by a recent visit to Dallas County Youth Village, WOATS Oatsnack founder Justin Anderson will also speak to the young men about his personal journey and struggles and participate in conjunction with the nutrition program teaching the method of making oat-based snacks.

“I was in awe and inspired by all of the work Chef Chad Houser and Café Momentum have in progress at Dallas County Youth Village,” says Justin. “It was a natural fit for WOATS. We want to inspire kids to discover and harness their passions, make a difference and change the world for the better.”

Café Momentum is a restaurant training platform that provides post-release paid internships for juvenile offenders through which they will receive intensive culinary, job, and life-skill training as well as continued mentoring and support to foster successful re-entry into the community. In addition to significantly reducing recidivism, Café Momentum creates opportunities for long-term, sustainable (legal) employment for a demographic that would otherwise continue to burden the justice system and taxpayers. WOATS is currently on shelves at Central Market and available at Artizone.com, the online shopping and home delivery service.  For more information about WOATS Oatsnack and to learn more about the WOATS Oatsnack mission please visit www.WOATS.com.
