On October 29, the Press Club of Dallas honored the following: Larissa Hall (KDAF-CW), Carolyn Mungo (WFAA-ABC), Adrienne Roark (KTVT-CBS), Susan Tully (KXAS-NBC), and Robin Whitmeyer (KDFW-FOX) in a luncheon panel at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Las Colinas. This landmark event celebrated the nation’s first group of all-women network television affiliate news directors to serve in one market. These women are not only helping to break the news of the day to North Texas viewing audiences, they are also breaking glass ceilings.
The mission of the Press Club of Dallas is to support journalism in all of its forms. The Press Club of Dallas is a dynamic 501(c)(3) organization that promotes the profession of journalism and related fields through educational, social and charitable initiatives. Members include working and retired journalists, public relations professionals, college professors, and students.
At a special Press Club of Dallas meeting beginning at 6pm this evening, the organization will present two long-time political journalists dissecting the election results at the studio of KERA-FM and TV, 3100 Harry Hines.
Carolyn Barta, former Dallas Morning News staffer, author and professor at Southern Methodist University, will join with Dave Montgomery, former Austin Bureau Chief for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and now a staffer for the Fort Worth Business Press, to give insights on what happened in the November 6 elections.
Admission, payable at the door (cash or checks only), is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. For more information, visit http://www.pressclubdallas.com/.
