

The Elisa Project is a wonderful organization in our community and it is that time of the year for their 11th Annual Symposium for the Treatment and Prevention of Eating Disorders. Their keynote speaker is Walter Kaye, MD. He is the renowned Director of the Eating Disorder Treatment and Research Program at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He has studied and headed the largest study on genetics and anorexia, ever. His quiet demeanor certainly cannot hide his passion for finding the key factors behind disordered eating.
Other well-known speakers from extremely established institutions include: Carolyn Becker, Ovidio Bermudez, Kimberly Dennis, Craig Johnson, Michael Lutter, Carrie McAdams, Angela Rediak-Olcese, Stephanie Setiff and Jeffrey Zigman.
Individuals with eating disorders continue to go up, therefore prevention and treatment are key.
