This is an annual event that is an inspiration created by NFL Cheerleader Cheryl DeLeonardis. After her career ended, she wanted to give back to the community and developed Legends for Charity Dinner. The first recipient was the legendary Pat Summerall, just six months after he was given a second chance at life through a liver transplant. These two great people have continued to select those who have made a contribution in the sports field to honor at this Super Bowl event. What a great idea to begin with and how can we not be even more supportive with the Super Bowl being held in our own beloved Cowboys Stadium this year!
This will be a kick-off dinner, with awards being accepted this year by Troy Aikman, Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Buck, Jay Glazer, Howie Long, Curt Menefee, Pam Oliver and Michael Strahan. Whew, that is a pretty nice roster! For lovers of football and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, you cannot miss this one.
The dinner will be delicious, along with walking and mingling the halls with the Super Bowl XLV players. Attendees might even meet the honorees! Food, football, charity and Super Bowl fever equals fun times!
