The Limelight: Mission East Dallas

Mission: to show the love of God by changing lives and providing affordable health care to those most in need

Mission East Dallas was established in 2002 for the purpose of providing much needed health care to the uninsured and working poor of Eastern Dallas County. Since its inception, MED has become the medical home for many chronically ill patients who otherwise do not have access to medical and dental health care, treatment, and/or medications. MED’s services include a medical clinic, comprehensive dental care, diabetes education, social work services, health screenings, and a community resource and referral network, including spiritual support and a children’s ministry.

Preventative care and early intervention are important in the care of all patients. Mission East Dallas hopes to reduce the need to receive medical treatment for urgent care in the emergency room setting. Within a 5 mile radius of the clinic, there are 60,000 indigent people.

As the very backbone of our organization, volunteers are MED’s greatest asset. They are constantly in search of individuals willing to share their talents, skills, and time to help in a variety of ways. Please consider joining their family of volunteers. You can download a volunteer packet here.
