The Limelight - Lemons to Aid

Based in Dallas, Texas, Lemons to Aid is on a mission to use the simple but memorable experience of hosting lemonade stands to instill the mindset of service and charitable giving in children at a young age. Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes, often generate a helpless feeling in adults and children wanting to help, but not knowing how. Lemons to Aid provides the tools for families around the world to host lemonade stands and other creative programs, such as read-a-thons, bake sales, etc. to raise money for disaster relief and other basic need causes.

Ways to Help:

1. Lemons to Aid provides Pediatric Kits to pediatrician offices around the country. The kits include: 50 “Thinking of You” cards, Crayons and Stickers

The items will be placed in a caddy that should be placed in the waiting room of the pediatrician’s offices, so children who are waiting to see his/her doctor can decorate cards for other sick children in hospitals and/or disaster areas. Each pediatrician office will then give the cards to the local hospital so they may distribute the cards to the children that are ill. The cards may also be used in disaster situations.

In order to receive a kit, the physician’s office must make a minimum donation of $50 to Lemons to Aid, a fund of The Dallas Foundation.

2. Kid-Friendly Ideas, including Resources & Tools:
