The Limelight: Attitudes & Attire

The Limelight: Attitudes & Attire

Attitudes & Attire™ is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. Most of those who participate in the program are single mothers needing financial support for their children. Attitudes & Attire offers professional and personal empowerment for women who are seeking employment by providing the tools that raise self-esteem, promotes ethics and builds the confidence necessary to succeed in the workplace. Since 1996, Attitudes & Attire has encouraged over 7,500 women to rediscover their own value and self-worth—vital qualities to securing a stable job and improving earning power.

Clients of Attitudes & Attire are typically single mothers with little personal or financial support, diverse in age, education and ethnicity and often victims of abuse, generational poverty, addiction and physical disabilities. All of the women in our program are overcoming adversity and barriers to finding a job.
Through their unique training programs facilitated by a professional counselor, the agency equips women with a new way of thinking about their worth and opportunities. Workshops address self-esteem, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, interviewing, and work ethics. “Client Dressings” follow every workshop. Clients are assisted by a volunteer image consultant to select professional clothing and accessories for the workplace from their clothing boutique located in the World Trade Center.

Attitudes & Attire is currently in need of handbags for their clients. Listed below are ways you can help:
