Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center has served over 31,000 children in the area and not limited to Collin County, to identify, protect and improve the lives of abused and neglected children. This important mission is supported by generous donations and fundraising within the community. 2010 Rock On Gala is the annual must-attend Collin County social event of the spring taking place on April 24, 2010 at the Hilton Anatole. The theme Rock On is derived from the headline cult-following entertainment, World Class Rockers (WCR), a band consisting of former band members from Santana, Journey, Boston, Steppenwolf, Toto, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Layer on the leather, chains and spandex and pump your fist to advocate for children.
Celebrity emcees include Kellie Rasberry and Big Al Mac of the Kidd Kraddick Show heard daily on 106.1 KISS FM.
For the second year in a row, community volunteer and philanthropist, Carolyn Speese will chair this important and dynamic event which is the largest revenue source for the Advocacy Center’s operational budget.
Gala elements include a raffle of your choice of a 2010 Park Place Lexus HS 250h Hybrid or Lexus IS 250 Convertible with one year of free gas. Tickets are sold for $50 a piece with only 2,000 tickets being sold. The winner will be drawn the night of the Gala, but need not be present to win. The live auction includes coveted SuperBowl tickets, NY Fashion Week, Oprah and more! Tiffany & Company will bring a signature Martini Raffle to win beautiful babbles.
The Advocacy Center is a child-friendly environment available not found in 375 locations nationwide with 63 in Texas alone. By creating a multi-disciplinary team to investigate, treat, and prosecute child abuse cases within Collin County, the Children’s Advocacy Center provides safe place for children to tell their stories and begin to heal. The Children’s Advocacy Center not only benefits the child, but also the entire community. Statistics reflect that children suffering abuse who do not receive a strong intervention are 67 times more likely to become juvenile offenders. Exercising a strong intervention is the best prevention to child abuse. By offering services to 100% of Collin County children victimized by abuse we are making a difference in the life of our community every day.
Please support this worthy cause in any way you can so we can help and treat the children!!
