39th Annual USA Film Festival
The 39th Annual USA Film Festival starts today and goes thru the 3rd of May so get your hands on a program schedule now and make plans to attend a few great films! You can also call 214.821.FILM for more program information or get advance tickets thru Ticketmaster by calling 214-631-2787 and then hold for a live operator. My personal pick is "Must Read After My Death." The description of the film is haunting me! It will be on Saturday the 2nd of May at 9 pm and the director, Morgan Dews, will be in attendance. I also want to see Jennifer Aniston, Steve Zahn, and Woody Harrelson in "Management," a romantic comedy. It will be on Sunday the 3rd of May at 7 pm. All of the films are at the Angelika so get a group of your friends together and make plans to dine and watch together! All tickets are $10. Don't miss the special tributes to Brian Cox, Ray Liotta, Juanita Moore, Joe Sedelmaier, M. Emmet Walsh and Paul Williams.

Heres to Lindy Berkley and the Children's Cancer Fund
I can't believe what Lindy Berkley, a cancer survivor herself, was able to pull off at this year's Children's Cancer Fund Luncheon. There was not a dry eye in the Anatole Ballroom during the fashion show featuring precious children battling cancer escorted by their favorite celebrities who ranged from Troy Aikman to the Toothfairy! Dillards so graciously gave the kids the darling outfits they modeled and the auction was a huge success. Lindy's husband, Brad, was beaming with pride and he purchased the Christopher Martin painting that had been donated to hang in their home as a lasting memory of Lindy's great accomplishment. They raised an additional $25,000 bonus money after the auction when attendees were asked to put as little or as much money as they could in an envelope at their seat. Did I mention that Lindy had a baby only 5 weeks ago!!! What an incredible cause! The event was a great reminder that the little things I worry about are so trivial. The children featured in the show and the calendar are fighting greater battles every day and they do it with a smile, a giggle and an incredibly positive attitude. They are my heros!
